impressive results. Very good, sincere congrats! following your approach now since almost 2y, and observing your interventions, and given the fact that you already have been in the target area, I particularly would attribute that improvement to 3 changes: reduction of fructose, increase of HDL, and lifting NAD. It took a while until the changes precipitated, as the body has to renew and find the equilibrium. I would expect that the next result is even better, as it is spring season :) Are you also doing psychometrics, such as reaction tests, standardized memory tests an the like? They have been show to be good early indicators. Such, establishing a baseline now could be pretty valuable later.

@@nuovoaccount998 of course. if you do 1 week of training at any, you improve. The potential is anyway greater in young age. so you would compare untrained and after 1 or 2 weeks of training later, ogether with absolute values And if you would decide to train regularly. it would not be a confounder... That's the purpose f training. If you would compare muscle strength between ages, you have the same situation. In both cases one would try to prevent age related decline. Using nutrition and training... and even nutrition itself is kind of training.

I can't wait to be here in 20 years when i'll read in the comments "Wow! This guy is doing nice for being 71!" I have a question though, Michael i'm reading your book and i've seen you present many tests about your oral microbiome but not the gut one.. which is arguably more important given your focus on nutrition. You're doing very good measuring input maybe seeing how the output is behaving like different food taken at different times or before or after others (since that too has an effect).. synergistic effects! i believe this would give you the cutting edge advantage. At that point you would exactly know how much you really absorbed of the food you ate and what is your body regenerating from.
@conqueragingordietrying1797
@conqueragingordietrying1797 3 месяца назад
Thanks @nuovoaccount998, not just 20y later, but 70y+ later! My own gut microbiome is discussed in the book, but I haven't tested in a while. I think looking at gut bacteria-derived blood metabolites is more important that gut microbiome composition-for example, TMAO, indoxyl and p-cresol sulfate are gut bacteria-derived, and I'm tracking them regularly using the metabolomic kit. The advantage of that approach is that rather than seeing who's there (i.e. gut microbiome composition), I'm looking at their functional read-out via metabolites in blood...

At 19.5-years you maybe reaching the limit of what can “naturally” be achieved. A fantastic result. I applaud the notion that running up LDL a little might have overall positive effects on other bio markers. The only area I question is holding hsCRP below 0.3, while holding down inflammation must be a good thing, having some can stimulate angiogenesis which should be a good thing. I have no idea where the ideal hsCRP should be but I’m doubtful 0 is the ideal.

Hey @erastvandoren, rather than trying to prove something statistically (i.e. via FDR), we'll see how the data looks for LDL vs DunedinPACE within a few weeks. That's a more direct test, rather than publishing FDRs and never running the intervention. The downside on FDR in this approach is that potentially meaningful correlations will be excluded. Amazing results. Be interesting to find a way to determine whether changing these biomarkers to more youthful levels has a noticeable impact on quality of life and if they maintain their correlation with various conditions - ie, does rolling back the biomarker also reduce the incidence and degree of various geriatric conditions. Probably need a long time and a larger sample size to know for sure, but happy to have an anecdote. One note - the creatinine. Don't know if you're supplementing with creatine or not, but that along with age and muscle mass (or injury to muscle tissue) can drastically change what is "normal." Same for EGFR based on creatinine. If you supplement with creatine, a % spontaneously converts to creatinine, and the blood panels go on lots of assumptions including NOT supplementing creatine. So, if your creatinine and EGFR (cr) numbers look bad in the future, just check against other markers of kidney function, and if they're fine, your creatinine and EGFR (based on cr) is fine, too. When you have real kidney damage, all the markers move together. In fact, if you're over 60 and/or have real kidney damage, a Cystatin C test (more common in the EU) and EGFR (cyc) based on Cystatin C will give you a much better idea of the damage as it correlates better unless you're taking specific medications like corticosteroids that can interfere with it.

@ChessMasterNate
@ChessMasterNate 3 месяца назад
I have played around with this calculator and I think it sucks. First, by including age, that makes it a complete cheat. And second, the functions chosen for each are wimpy. They are not configured to reflect all cause mortality or anything else. You can enter values that would make someone dead, and it happily gives ridiculously low age. If this was robust and logical, any value extreme that would be harmful should be reflected as harmful and shortened life. Third. It can completely miss significantly harmful health values, and exaggerate the importance of others. Maybe you can say I am biased because I have high RDW, but how do I die of high RDW? I had my red blood cells checked in other ways and they appear to work fine. Iron/TIBC saturation is fine, Ferritin is fine, iron is fine, Total iron Binding Capacity is fine (400 where normal is 245-450). Hematocrit is pretty close to the middle at 46.3 Hemoglobin is near the middle at 15.1 The only reason they have RDW-CV is to identify anemia, some blood disorders like sickle cell and leukemia. I don't have any of these, as can easily be verified by other blood markers and my DNA. I checked for sickle cell even though I am 99.8% north-western European, and highly unlikely to have inherited it, and I checked for thalassemia, and again no SNIPs for that. Any test that includes age and heavily weights it, is going to correlate well with it. I think it is folly to be trying to change all your biomarkers to try to get a lower score on this test. Especially when it rewards extreme and obviously unhealthy values. And I don't think results are at all useful, regardless of any correlations. Try these funky values: Al 19.9, Cr 0.01, Glu 1, CRP 0.01, Lym 100, MCV 0.1, RDW 0.01, Al Pho 0.01, WBC 0.01, Age 0.01 I'll leave it to you to generate the cool value. If you are serious, you need something else. Looking at individual values' all cause mortality curves, and age average curves as you have done on many videos is much better, even if less satisfying than an overall age output. It sure would be nice if we had blood work of centenarians (especially 105+) from when they were 20. Maybe if we cloned 500 of them, then measured them every year to at least 20? Waiting around the other direction would be hopless. Would have to be done in secret or in a country where that would be legal. Yes, they would be eating modern food and such, but I suspect the results would still strongly contrast with results from 500 average 20-year-olds in meaningful ways eating similar foods. I think the rules against cloning and gene-line genetic modification are a disaster born of irrational and unestablished imaginary harms born of mythology from science fiction.

Great results 👍👍 Do you check if there could be a U-shaped curve, correlation between niacin supplementation and the aging marker you tested? For example what impact has 200mg niacin on aging and NAD instead of 600mg.. Another really interesting point would be niacinamide supplementation or a combination of both niacin and nicotinamide. Niacinamide has no effect on LDL afaik Also regarding the negative effect of niacin: you maybe missed methylation as an super important factor concerning high dose b3 Niacin is a big methyl thief and high dose b3 leads to significant undermethylation (if you are a normal or undermethylator) B3 should always be combined with the same amount of TMG betaine as a methyl donor (Chris Masterjohn phd)
@conqueragingordietrying1797
