@@brenomah why would he need to say it if he didn’t? It isn’t like anybody else’s videos even mention the idea, so he isn’t trying to keep up with anybody else.
I actually thought they were ceramic and to begin with I thought the small sheet was going to replace everything as a more efficient version. Then it was bent round the stick and I realised what was happening! 👏
Except for the fact that powder coat is essentially plastic that will melt when heated. It’s super unfortunate the essence of the piece is destroyed to make it pretty
Great work! Just a quick note- looks like you used plumber's PTFE tape on the gas jet. For future products using gas fuel, I recommend you use the gas-rated PTFE. It's typically pale yellow in a yellow spool instead of white tape in a blue spool. It's rated for higher temperatures (and is a little thicker) so won't break down if that gas jet pipe heats up.
He also did not grease the carrot valve. The grease acts as a seal to keep the gas inside the valve. This is why they bind up or leak. They must be greased yearly.
@@escapetherace1943 that’s partially by design. Things need to be somewhat cost effective and easy to ship like Ikea furniture. The market usually allows for all kinds of varying degrees of quality vs quantity items. But people will still bitch about it all day long. If it’s not chintzy cheap crap, then it’s way too expensive. Waaaah! Develop some premium consumer goods and see how far you get…
I've restored 1800's fire alarm boxes and bells for years. The mechanisms are basically brass telegraphs with watch-like workings. Very complex to restore. However, this commitment to the stainless flame-trap burners is another level lol! Great work, thanks for sharing !
The end where you lit all those brand new stainless steel rods that you made…WOW! What a beautiful heater! Your work is outstanding! so precise and patient!
What a beautiful little heater! It looks to be very efficiently designed, as well. I can't help but wonder how well it put out heat. I can certainly imagine keeping a pot of hot water on top for tea. Such wonderful dedication to it's painstaking restoration, too. I feel it's likely to look even better than when it was brand new.
You sir, are a genius, an artist, and a true gift to humanity! I have always prided myself on my ability to repair just about anything, especially restoring antiques. I salute you on bended knee.
It is so enjoyable to watch a skilled artisan fix something like this. And he has all the needed tools too which helps. Thank you for this great video.
There are allot restorers on youtube who fake/pretend or do not have skill. But you are one of the few who really does a great job! Not only going for the end result, but also knows how to apply sertain techniques and is responsible with it as well! Well done indeed👍
What an excellent restoration, I sometimes get bored watching resto jobs but this one kept my attention all the way. The manufacturer of the heating elements, although technology aided, showed a great skill level. I would be proud to own a little gas heater like this one. Well done.
by todays standards, that looks dangerous as hell, but to me, it looks...oddly soothing....would make for some great photography in a dark room...great job, friend :D
Hell you should have seen what we had for a bathroom heater at my grandparents cabin in Ruidoso NM growing up. I think they banned them back in late 80's cause of fire risk yet damn things would heat up the bathroom quick. Gas and you lit it with a match. Better light the match before you hit the gas knob else you might lose some eyebrows. Don't ask how I know that one.
You are MY kind of man. A talented engineer with precision and care. I hope you continue to restore things and stop the waste on this planet. Lots of love from an Old Lady.
no cabe duda que las cosas de antes tenían espíritu, por eso eran ejemplo de arte, estaban hechas con pasión y dedicación, tal como tu restauración...felicitaciones y saludos desde Argentina!
This man is incredible! The patience, the knowledge, the absolute craftsmanship is amazing. I always enjoy watching his videos, they are so well done and interesting.
They sure knew how to blend beauty and efficiency back then. I can just imagine the warm glow of this little gem late in the evening when all was dimmed.
Definitely, one of my favorite pieces to date. I like when you get to use all of your tools around the shop, it makes the restoration more beautifully complex.
that would be 光明 then, however nowadays usually it would be written koumyou or kōmyō. Leaving out the u or using "o" instead of "ō" is just laziness and can lead to misunderstandings, only among the crowd who can actually tell the difference though.
Wow, watching the restoration process of a unique 1924 gas heater was truly fascinating! It's amazing to see how to bring this piece of history back to life. I'm in awe of the attention to detail and the dedication that went into restoring such a special piece. Great job to everyone involved in the restoration process! Thank you from Qatar 🇶🇦 🇶🇦 🇶🇦
Best ever Restauration video ever. No music but the actual sound of work. No talking. Every step shown equally way. Damn I'll give you 12 out of 10. Me who have workshop know only sand blastering device is expensive as hell, knowing only the best artist would make such an vid.
Вот это настоящия реставрация и ремонт, а то некоторые ради контента берут шорошию вещь почкают, а потом делают вид что востанавливают! Браво мастеру 👏🏻👍🏼
One reason we subscribed is because you showed the powder coating melting in the oven. It’s one of me and my daughters favorite things to watch. Thank you!!
You did a lovely job on this piece! Especially on those little diffuser things. That looked like a lot of trouble, but you managed to make it look easy.
I continue to be amazed at what you can do, Nicolas. I wouldn't even know where to start with half of the stuff you do. And when you make your own parts, like the heating elements, or on other projects your own screws? I'm just astounded by how much skill and knowledge you have!
That is awesome ,,great job ,,I wonder how well it heats compared to today's heaters ,,,I love seeing the old things brought back to life ,,thank you for sharing these with us ❤😊
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen you do. It must have taken a while to find it all. The most impressive thing is the heating elements that you made. Each one neatly fitting into the heater
OMG! What a lot of work! 🤯 Respect and congratulations to this restoration! 😃👍 I'm just not sure if the nickel plating and the powder coating on the heat exposed parts will last. 🤔
Wirklich wundervolle Arbeit!
