Agree - the sports saloon designs you see on 4.25L Derby Bentleys from Park Ward and Vanden Plas around this time are quite similar lines but with a larger rump for more of ones luggage! I guess the difference with Derby Bentleys is the sports saloon designs were the more common ones, and you see even more exotic coachwork from HJ Mulliner, Barker and Gurney Nutting. There were some stunning cars from this era and I think this Alvis is just gorgeous - and you see those same lines in the Mk4 Jag arriving post war too.
Looking at your channel, I can see you love the more interesting motors. I enjoyed watching your video on the Austin Healey - your passion shows through. Great job.
Correct. This was our first video with the new camera guy... it's something we have since updated in our later videos. You can find photos of the engine on our website. Hope you enjoyed the video all the same
I'd say the Alvis drivetrain was better engineered - though both have their merits. The Jaguar had a Standard sidevalve six cylinder engine, before the days when Jaguar designed and built their own engines.
This review could have used a lot more seeing around the car interior, trunk etc. Too much watching the author just driving with a single static camera
