Hey Tannz.. ya that spring just was not enough to set off that surplus ammo. That rifle might have been cocked and in storage for 50 years and weekend after all that time. Thanks for watching ! Hey Hobo.. ya i had no idea at first what was causing the misfire. You know those rifles probably sat in storage for 60 years cocked and the spring was compromised or just got weak. THANKS for watching.

Hey Tim ya HL has good prices and they have gone up in the last few months. I just send them $50 for every rifle shipping and then they send me a small card later saying i still owe some amount to them for shipping. Tim on the $98 rifle they don't have the hand select but i added $20 more dollars and in large writing i said PLEASE PICK ME OUT A NICE ONE and i added $20 if that will help. I did talk to them once and they said they are swamped with orders and its hard to keep up.. they cant find help. Also they just got a large shipment of rifles and the add's for them will be coming out in June and July. your right shipping is geting outragous.i got the same card and it added a month or more because of the lag time and snail mail lol. i will try adding extra to see if they will pick out a good one. i want the 1912 steyr 9mm next. looking at GB and the bid sites for one and the prices are really up there. for me %300 is a big gamble but no balls no blue chips as they say!@@RUSTYSURPLUS

OK THX TOOL i need to get 2 more springs for my Mausers that i have coming from Hunters Lodge.. might as well just replace them now so i can use the 8MM surplus ammo. I have had 2 other viewers say they have had the same thing happen to them with the 8MM surplus ammo THANKS for the tip !

@@RUSTYSURPLUS Yeah it's amazing those old springs have held up as good as they have on a lot of these rifles, but if you have a hard primer issue they just can't cut it anymore

@@Toolness1 Ya that surplus ammo .. has the hard primer. I just got some 8MM from SGAmmo and it said the primers were not as hard as the other ammo they were selling. We will see i will be testing that out.

Sniper yes .. i just went the WOLFF GUNSPRINGS and saw the M48 spring there SKU # 66322. now that is the 22 LB. spring, and if you are using surplus 8MM ammo you might want to go with the 26LB. spring. That surplus ammo is made for machine guns and takes a heaver spring to set it off in the bolt action rifle. You know there are other Mauser striker springs there 1896/1898 ect I bet they all will work on any Mauser bolt,, I think it's all about the poundage of the spring. The guy at SG AMMO was the one that clued me in on why i might be getting miss fires on my 8mm surplus ammo. Hey thanks for watching !!
