Very nice rifle. I just received a Mosin Nagant 90/31 from Hunters Lodge, paid $378 for it plus &20 hand select & $31 for a sling & cleaning rod, has very good bore & am very happy with it.

Spain did a fair amount of fighting in their colonial holdings in north Africa in the 1950s and later. They held the northern tip of Morrocco as well as a parcel called Spanish Sahara and a little niche carved out of Morrocco called Sidi Ifni. I have seen pictures of this type of rifle being used there. Your rifle could be a combat veteran of those conflicts.

Neat varient of the 98, never got into Spanish Mausers since the 1916s were chambered in 7mm and Ive always had tons of 8mm. Might snag an M43 one of these days. Looks like yours was used but pretty well taken care of!
1970 howdy Ya those Spanish rifles use all different calibers of ammo. The M43 they have at H L right now its kinda hit or miss.. i have seen a few different videos on them some good some not, but they all will shoot after a good scrubbing. THANKS for watching !

Casual THANKS... that video was done inside the garage/ mancave is cold an my boat is in there. I am gonna clean up the parts one at a time when it warms up. I am going to make a short video on how I clean up the stock.. hot soapy water and a scrub brush. that's a good place to start on those surplus stocks. Hey 86 ya there are a lot of them at Hunters Lodge ask for # matching on your order form. I am still waiting for an order i placed 4 weeks ago on a different rifle. Cant be in a hurry with them. If you can call there and ask how much total for what you want, gotta have there # on speed dial though. Or just go for it. Great video not much info out their on these spanish m43/ m44 mausers. From what I'm understanding, the m44 just has no bayonet adaptor and has the airforce stamp on the top of the reciver. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm struggling to find information on these rifles, please reply if you have any info!

Definitely one of the more extreme cases I’ve seen of packaging destroyed during shipping! Looks like a very decent rifle overall, though. The rust doesn’t look like it would be much trouble and it has the right amount of wear so that it doesn’t look like trash but also not so pristine that it needs to be babied. Congrats!

Hey Casual.. Ya petty much the same here. I did get James and he told me he cant get any help and he is in the back packing the rifles for shipment. I have a $98 1943 ordered and still waiting.. never a hurry from them as you know. I think the best time to call is in THERE afternoon. That 1943 you got .. did you test fire it ? My $200 1943 was in really good shape but when i went to test fire the firing pin spring wasn't strong enough to set the round off. It was 1950's surplus ammo 8MM stuff. got a new spring coming.
