Sorry, but the 82/70 can be bypassed... here's the trick: There's no shelf to catch the knife on. You have to jam the point into the back of the keyway and press down.
Thank you again for your videos! Can you please suggest toughest locks $20 and under? I know that may be difficult but I think you may have some ideas. New to picking and looking for locks to start on that might be a little tougher and won't break bank too much buying multiples.
hey nice little pick. i'm new to all this lock picking stuff and i was wondering if you could tell me what a good lock pick set for beginners is thank you.
I actually picked this one pretty easily. Had a lot of false sets and counter rotation though, so I wanted to open it up and see if it's got spools. But for the life of me I can't even figure out how it was manufactured it's a solid lump of steel. How did they get the insides inside and how do I get them out?
Nicely picked, some I'm sure have shown this type of bypass before( Potti 314), nice to see it done again. Shame on Abus , perhaps they had a designer trade with master lock for the day they designed that model😂😂😂😂
Thanks... I haven't seen Potti's, but I think I saw a similar exploit by Bosnian Bill a long time ago... He even milled the lock open to show the innards!
Old stuff... I wonder if there is enough extra keyway inside to push/place a small section of blank key to block the bypass. Maybe 3/16 to 1/4 inch would do it. Think I would make a special blank key first with the head cut back. Find out how far it can go in and then cut a slice off, leaving room for the real key and push it inside. Viola! no more bypass :)
Isn''t this actionable in some way... is there a Lemon Law for locks? I assume they sell the exact same thing in the EU... it's just bizarre that the quality of their products is so... dynamic. I've used an Abus non-Granit or Plus integrated lock-chain for a few years and just got one of their frame locks for my bike, and both are okay. Hey maybe try to pick a frame lock?
Oh yea crap. Now that you say it I do remember seeing a video from Bill where he milled one open and did that. Well crap. I love the type of locks. Shame
I was SPP'ing this lock and found a fourth way... When I examined the locking pawl I found that it should be susceptible to shimming. Indeed it was! took all of five seconds.
I've thought of that, but never tried. The problem is inserting a shim once it's locked on something. I suppose you might make a modified shim to help with that, but why bother when this bypass is so easy?
LockPickingLawyer Good point, but I'll not be shimming a lock in use it was fun to find another bypass. If I need to bypass a lock in use, I'll find a workaround. ;-)
They can, but not when companies get cheap for the sake of profit. Though really, how much could that wafer cost compared to the lost business of having a lock not shielded against the simplest bypass methods? Probably not much.
