In this video I briefly look at the engine parts, before turning my attention to the cab, windshield, new seats and roof. Then I'll install the cab and front clip while mocking up the front end.
Found on great price trying to get there 8 hours round trip I have a donate 1996 3500 4x4 chev crew cab 454 4l80 duelly have a 14 bolt single wheel diff ang way injoy you build great
hello Dave! congrats again. I don't know if it's possible or not but on some turbos you can turn the compressor housing and that can help you finding a better position. Just an idea. keep updating!!!
Dave. I'm back here with this video. I was thinking on the seats. Take in mind that there is no space for your legs with the original small seats. I've seen people that lengthen the cab rear end to make more space for bigger seats and better legs room.
Hey Ronnie, thanks I hadn't considered that lengthening the cab. In the ones you've seen, is the cab lengthened in front of the door, or behind the door?
@@DavePepperX Dave, behind the door, between the door and the rear curve. here one example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1vSkDICMKoo.html
it will also request to modify the roof too 😔. One solution would be moving to soft top. the other sol would be stretching the hard top metal... Your choise. I like more the soft top but that's totally personal.
I went ahead with using the modern frame for power brakes and steering, but also the availability of finding parts and customizing easily when needed. The older design wasn't suited well for driving in modern-day traffic and could be outright dangerous at speed, for my use.
Hi Dave, I am doing the same swap as you only with a cummins 4.5 common rail rear gear. I am to the point you are doing in this episode. I would like to use the same radiator and inner cooler that you are using. They look like they fit well. Can you give me the info on them please. Ron
I am using the NV 4500 standard tranny so I don't need the transmission cooler in the Rad but I can probably get the one with out the cooler. I have been following your build and your doing a great job! Ron
Sounds like a great project! What did you get the 4.5 out of? The radiator in the truck is a "DNA Motoring RA-NOVA62-3 Aluminum Racing Radiator" purchased from Amazon. The cooler ports aren't very intrusive if you decided to cap them off for your build. The intercooler I'm using was originally designed for a Mazda RX-7, Part number IC0053 and is from CXRacing. I've used this intercooler before when I built my Cummins 4BT Jeep CJ-7 and it works very well!
Chad Mckinney out of Ohio gets them out of bread trucks. He has a company called quick draw. I got my custom adapter and flywheel from him to bolt the NV4500 to the sae3 bell housing.
That looks more like Urethane tape , if it were Silicone , it would have set up , and you would never get anything to adhere to it , including Silicone . Good uck w/that rust , malor work !
Hola saludos yo estoy Trabajando un Pawer Wuagon 1953 usamos una Dodge Ran 2003 5.9 la pregunta es qué relojes indicadores según el sistema de comunicación usa qué opciones se pueden usar
Turbo - just rotate the inducer side - you have 360 degrees of rotation, If I can run compound turbos on a Cummins in a WC53 which is a tighter fit than the M37 then you have tons of room to run that single turbo
