My father had one early '60's. A 1953 model. Not particularly nice cars. 1500 side valve. Heavy, slow and thirsty. 25 mpg. We used to go fishing in the lake district in it. Most cars by then were getting overhead valve engines, so the MO was a throwback to before WW2. Austins were better.
