Y'all did a fantastic job, you have a very professional and talented crew. The paint was perfect and the color scheme was on point. I really appreciate watching this type of biuld, hope you do more.
Scott, I’m trying to get caught up on all of your videos. I’m a little older than you, probably by 20-25 years, used to see a lot of these back in the day. I think you did a great job on this, love the color combinations, it looks great, like all of your work, I’m a fan. I’m going to do a resto mod on my 1960 International Harvester SB120 panel truck, I’ve owned it for 35 years now. It will get updated power train, diesel, it’s a 4x4, I’m going to put military axles under it, paint is back in the original blue and white. Thinking about doing a video of it, at least some before and after. You inspired me to make it better than new. Keep up the great work, and keep trolling the haters. Dan.
New paint scheme and tires are a vast improvement. Looks fantastic. Was surprised the owner uses this as his daily driver. Surely not subjected to Chicago winters, I hope.
I guess I should have clarified, summer daily driver. He got it in the summer last year and stored it for half the winter and I had it the other half. He will drive it for the spring, summer, and fall and store it for the winter next year. Thanks for watching!
It looks great! I love the original look now. The wheels, associated trim & white walls makes it come alive. The white roof really balances it out. Home run as usual. Can’t wait until the next project.
The customer did the right thing and brought this beautiful truck to the real professionals no more games do it the right way take your time that's why i respect this guy he is 100 % honest. Thanks for showing this video.
As always, expert craftsmanship. The new color is fantastic and the original wheels are a nice touch. My Dad had a work truck like this one in green in 1956. I was 7. Yeah, I'm old as dirt. I learned to drive a stick in that truck when I was 11. Great memories.
That 1955 is a very rare truck. As I remember they switched to the new model in mid or late 55. I had a 56 (my first vehicle, used of course) Changing the color was awesome! Added so much classic style with that paint scheme. We differ on one thing, I would prefer to work on most any vehicle from the 40's up to the early 70's. Most of them had room enough under the hood and you could crawl inside the engine compartment and work on them. Odd that I still own a car or two from the 60's and one in the 70's. Please keep up the great work. Jack
Everyone keeps telling me it is a 54 but the owner assured me it was a 55 so I go with his suggestion. I know how much research he did to get the truck and it was not his first. I like the room in the older vehicles but I like the ease of removing panels and aligning panels on the newer vehicles. It is a trade off. My first truck was a 78 GMC and to work on the engine, I would sit on the inner fenders on either side under the hood comfortably. lol I did enjoy this project but I was glad to get back to my new stuff at the same time. It is what I know best and I'm much more efficient. Thanks for watching.
The paint scheme looks really nice on this truck. As always you do a bang up job on these cars. BTW that weatherstripping between the fenders and the body is called welting.
I was not a fan of the teal but the different colors helped set it off nicely. I remember hearing that word somewhere, so I think I was taught it at one time. Now I won't forget it. Thanks for watching and reteaching me something.
Awesome job! I love the look of the two tone and wide whites. The weatherstripping between the fenders is called fender welting if you were wondering. A few years ago, my dad and I restomodded a '56 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup. It has a 5.7 from a '99 GMC van, '74 Nova front and rear and a lot of custom touches. It was a fun project and I really like working on older cars :) Our '39 Plymouth also has the A/C vent like this early '55. It really lets cool air into the interior!
I would have liked to do some suspension and drivetrain upgrades but the owner wasn't having it...... yet. It did run fantastic so I guess I don't blame him. Thanks for watching!
I think the original all teal was a little too much so the end result looks much better. I'll keep the videos coming although this one set me back a little since it took so long, so I might have some different ones coming up. Thanks for watching.
Definitely looks way better with the white top and the black running boards and the original rims on it looks more uniform and definitely looks like the error of the truck but great job buddy God bless you guys for redoing that time capsule
Had a friend back in the day who hand painted a truck of this vintage with a 4" brush. Oddly vary close to the original color of this one. Needless to say you did a much better job.
Thank you for watching! I think it turned out great, I just did what the owner asked and he got it right! Still needs and LS motor in my opinion though! lol
Damn dude, you made a good looking truck out of that old girl. People telling the owner how good that truck looks and he'll be back putting the LS engine in and probably four wheel disc brakes. Thanks for another great Friday afternoon video. You take care and have a good weekend.
Thanks, I think he would go for a motor swap if the old one died but you can't kill those old in-line 6 cylinders so it might take a while. Thanks for watching, have a good month!
Awesome job, in my opinion white top yes looked very good, black running boards not so much ,same as body color or white , LS swap hell yes... you do great work thanks for the videos ,I know customers get what they want ,personally any color but green.
@@vehcor Yeah red oxidizes worst than any other color, I'm in total agreement with you on those colors, your videos have came along way since I started following, I like the way your narrative is now. A lot more. Thanks again for the vids.
Good to see "my era" pick-up. Most were single color and had no whitewall tires. All had "dog dish" hubcaps. Radios were extra cost and with one speaker in Dash below window. HEATERS were extra also. These were work trucks and had no frills attached. Glass was not tinted and "Granny" low was basic. Fun to drive-its competion was the FORD F-100 at the time.
I agree, the 2-tone really made the truck stand out. AND, a LS/auto would make this an awesome daily driver plus better fuel mileage. Was it the old 6cyl or a SBChevy? Love your channel
All a matter of preference. The solid color masks the cab height, where as the white makes it pronounced. If the customer is happy with it, I'd be happy with it. If it were my ride I probably would not go so period correct with the paint and wheel selection. Good work, glad to see the glass was removed, and yeah they can be a royal pain.
I liked the after better. Just too much teal for me in the original and I was not a fan of the 80 wheels. lol The side glass was fun and easy but the windshield, not so much. Thanks for watching.
Great job. I think that both old and new paint/wheel combination is equally good. Fixing up the bodywork means that the new truck is overall in better looking condition, so I prefer it, but for the work, not for the paint.
I like it both ways... but the whitewalls really work with the white top, and would've helped the original too.. The wheels on the original are ugly. Great job!! You guys do great work..Thanks for sharing!
I like to live dangerously. lol I have no excuse, I know better. I guess I was just excited to take it all apart. I did use them at the end, does that count? Thanks for calling me out, and thanks for watching!
Real nice work on the truck. Big difference in how you go about producing these videos now. You have a more combative style with your audience these days. I'm not complaining... I like your productions very much. This is one of the rare moments when you recorded yourself actually cleaning a vehicle... whatever happened to you... 😁😁😁😁😁😁 By the way... it looks like the retired Dallas Cowboy player Daryl Johnston was a part of your crew before he moved on to be a TV sports commentator 😂😂😂
You do impressive work! Borrowed a friends ‘53 couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the key until I saw the extra pedal lol not a color I’d choose BUT it’s not my truck Thanx from the left coast near the Krapitol of California
I wasn't a fan of the color either but it looked much better with the white top and black running boards. This one was an automatic, pretty rare in trucks at the time. Thanks for watching!
