I just had to get out! Even if it was just for a few minutes. Hope you are all doing well. This is just a very brief video of a quick ride around the block on the 1956 Triumph Tiger T110
As you will see, it still needs a little work with little projects that I'll continue to do in the garage as part of the 5-minute-fix mini-series.
I'm really hoping to do some more videos with this bike this year.

What a beautiful bike. It looks even better close up, in person, than in the video. I started to take the choke off my TR6 because I never needed it, until last month. It was a beautiful, dry, sunny day but in the high 30s. It started with a tickle but wouldn’t keep running, until I put the choke on. It took a couple minutes to warm up enough to run without being choked. I’m going to leave it on. I’m looking forward to seeing that beautiful bike on the road more.

great looking motorcycle, true british classic, sweet sounding motor, use the bike more often and you'll have less problems, some high mileage bikes are a lot better than low mileage.

Hi Guy, yes absolutely! There is a long list of jobs to do on this bike and so it should hopefully be up on the lift soon, once I have finished jobs on the other bikes. Best wishes, Mike

Thats what I want to do, go for a blast but the weather here is wet and cold plus we're back in lockdown. Need to go out on the Velo to sort out the wet sumping get some oil pumping round and bed the new brake shoes in. Hope you OK and not to bored (lots of things to do in the workshop I'm shore) Lenny, from Leicestershire, UK.

Hello Mike, that beautiful Tiger One-Ten was built in the year that I was born, it's in damned better condition than I am after all those years. In 1978 I went to view a 1956 B.S.A. Road Rocket with the intention of buying it for £350. The owner lived in Rastrick which wasn't far from me in Halifax, unfortunately the Bike was partly stripped down and I didn't have the knowledge of British machines in those days to reassemble it, so I didn't buy it. A mate of mine currently has a 1958 Super Rocket and it's in beautiful original condition and it sounds wonderful. Nowadays B.S.A. A10's are out of my price zone, so I'll probably never own one myself.

Very nice T110. Always liked that colour. To the extent i had my custom T140 painted the same a couple of years ago. The nearest match was Isuzu pick up metallic sky blue....

From your filming position the headlamp shell in combination with the handle bars is somehow looking like a wasp on dope :>)) Else the bike is a real beauty! Not much riding here either. Due to covid regulations no place to get a coffee or a sausage, not even a chance to warm up your feet somewhere. Went back to the workshop with a glas of good malt and dreaming of better days ahead...

Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Oh my goodness, my dad had a T110 in the mid to late 50's. He purchased it new. He would often ride around with his buddies in the south island of New Zealand. He would mention the other Triumphs, BSA's, Nortons & others that they owned. Singles & twins etc. But one of that young bunch, one-upped them all with his Ariel Square 4. They all used to marvel at it. I have an old black & white photo or two of his Triumph. It looks exactly like your's. I think it was the same blue colour. He would ride it from Dunedin to Invercargill regularly, stopping on the way to rest, refuel & "check the tighteness", as he put it, of various nuts & bolts. Thank you so much & please feature this bike again if you can. She's gorgeous 👍

Very enjoyable quick ride Mike. The bike looks great. I've been tempted to do the same just to temporarily escape the lockdown even though the temp is just below freezing. But the streets are clear and dry with no snow so I might take the plunge. Cheers 👍🏍🇨🇦

Two videos in two days! I had to check the date watching yesterdays video in case I had slept through to Sunday! I don’t think you said what the temperature was, if it was very cold maybe this explains why your tyres felt horrible? I went out the other day on my (modern) bike at 2C (36F) and the temperature didn’t bother me as I wanted to ride but it felt as if I was riding on glass 🤪🇬🇧🏍

Very nice. I have my cousins Bonneville gas tank in the basement. He gave it to me to do a liner job on it, but by my assessment it wasn't bad enough to do it, so I used Metal Rescue to clean it and it turned out looking like new inside. Anyways, I was wondering if there are some special fasteners to hold the chrome strip that covers the top seam of the tank. The previous owner just had some copper wire tying it on.

Hi John, thanks a lot for your note. The little chrome strip just has bends at each end. It's not very sophisticated. The metal extensions just basically bend under the tank at the front and rear. Cheers, Mike

Hello friends, I think this motor might have a “ small bearing crank “ you can tell by feeling underneath the timing side cover, where there is a small casting bulge if it has a standard large bearing, if not mine went on for years, just changed the oil regularly. Greetings from Cornwall.

Hehe, thanks for your note. They were very similar but actually different models sold by Triumph at the same time. The Tiger was sold as a sportier version of the Thunderbird, which was sold more as a touring bike. Best wishes, Mike

I'm interested in that the ammeter shows no charging, just like the one on my 64 Tiger 90, even though I know it's charging. Lovely looking bike.

I believe the ammeter will only show flow of current to the battery when the battery is not fully charged. If the charging system is keeping up with the demand (lights, etc.) then there will be no flow of juice to the battery. On my bike, if I run the bike with the high beam on for a while and then shut off the light, the ammeter will show current flow to the battery until its fully re-charged following the heavy load put on the system. Yes & Yes! Great ear! I'm originally from Darwen but spent a lot of time living in Yorkshire and lived in Scarborough before emigrating! Now it's just a hodge-podge accent 😉

Hehe, they are quite comfortable... but I must say that I haven't ridden the bike very far yet to tell for sure. They are not as far down as clip ons and they feel like the Thruxton in many ways. Best wishes, Mike

Hi, the color is called "Shell Blue Sheen". It's the original color (or very close) to the original color for the bike back in 1956. It must have been so good to see all the great colors back in the day. Best wishes, Mike
