I'm very surprised that a double guitar existed that far back in music history!

Discovered the Kids a few days ago. Never heard of them. One video is never enough. Larry's talent is just great and man could he bop. Even his head. Quite the showman.

Never will I tire of watching anything by these two......she's cute with a great voice and Larry is a nutter in the best sense of the word......absolute dynamo of a guitarist

I'm a longtime guitar player and love learning about great pickers of the past, from any genre. In my opinion, Larry Collins (the kid in this video) is THE most underappreciated rock 'n' roll guitar player of all time. For starters, he's using a double-neck Mosrite that probably weighs 20 pounds, at a body weight that looks to be maybe 100 pounds. He's doing physically demanding stage moves that I've never seen anybody else attempt. His technique is darn good -- and this song is far from his most impressive playing. He sings harmony well. He does all this on live television with no opportunity to go back and fix errors. And at this point (1957) he's only12 or 13 years old (born in October 1944). Phenomenal.

The Collins Kids! Uniquely talented, yet sadly overlooked and underrated over the years. They were genuine trailblazers. Glad to see that some have always recognized their talent, and hopefully that recognition will grow. Although not as common as "Sister Acts" or "Brother Acts", the "Sister-Brother Act" does seem especially unique, right, charming, sweet and excellent when it does happen. Lorrie & Larry Collins are great examples of that, along with Donny & Marie Osmond, Karen & Richard Carpenter, and the Browns, (Jim Ed, Maxine & Bonnie) to name the few other "Sister-Brother" acts I can think of.

That kid, Larry Collins, is still alive. He’s now 78 years old.

I just discovered these two. I chuckle at this masterpiece with a big smile and then Larry gives his big sis a smootch on her cheek. Gotta love the pep in his step while he is cranking out his guitar. 👍

this was the first song I learned on the guitar when I was 9. my cousin taught me when he was on leave from the army. this kid had a lot more energy than me, but I'm 67 now. 🤣

I'm amazed at how Larry could move and dance around with that big double-neck guitar strapped on him.

I remember seeing them on the TV when I was a kid.

I don’t even like rockabilly but LOOK AT THAT LITTLE BOY FREAKING GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! And their voices together are SO IN TUNE and just PHENOMENAL!!!! Like the power and clarity outta these kids. I’m sold. Lol 😂

Sad to say I never heard of them. But they’re perfect. Go, cat, go!

Have only just read the sad news that Lorrie Collins passed away in August following a fall..........Glad we have many videos and recordings of a very pretty lady....Condolences to her Larry and their families.

Wow! I discovered the Collins Kids few years ago with RU-vid. Tex Ritter's Ranch Party back in 1957. Wonderful ! Rockabilly and Country Music. That's the Real Thing ! RIP Lorrie Collins and hats off to Larry (such a Guitar Man). God bless them

Feeling very grateful to have seen them live at the Green Bay '50s fest -- some 17 or 18 years ago (going on my shaky memory on the date). They were terrific -- even "all growed up."
