1958-1965 Ford Steering hurtles. Save yourself time and remove all parts to press out and in these bushings properly. Small presses used while the apparatus is on the car proved to be impossible with old rusted in place bushings. Heat, penetrating oil and a floor press were needed to force the old sleeves out from the rod and bracket..
Also noted are the measurements to set the relay rod before alignment. Don't forget the roll pin under the clamp. clean out the old grease in the threaded area before installing and re-grease with a good synthetic grease.
This is also a great time to check wheel bearing adjustment and possibly re-pack or replace bearings.
Also shown is what looks like OEM front brake lines with protective sheathes. 1958 didn't have shock absorbers mounted in the normal position as the engineers were planning to include an air-bag shock system but at the last minute that idea was scrapped - thus shocks are mounted on the outside of the control arms and springs.

Thanks for this video, pretty much similar power steering setup in my 1958 Edsel Pacer convertible.

Useful video, this weekend I was looking at replacing the idler arm bushings on my '55 Ford Fairlane w/ power steering and the set-up looks similar to yours, just on the opposite side. Was looking if you had further video or info on the actual removal of the bushings, but didn't see anything. .... But small world though, I'm originally from Omaha, NE and for the last 20 years living in Prague, Czech Republic. I have the '55 here and it turns a lot of heads when out on the roads.

Lucky you!! I love CZ.. I'm a big Blue Effect fan among other things.. No other videos on that but I did pack the steering unit with synthetic grease which made a difference. That plug on top - a good low viscosity grease NLGI1 or lighter then you can add just a touch of gear oil to make it flow. Much better than leaving it dry,, I'll be adding a LOT of videos soon on this channel. They are done - just need to edit.

Great video but your camera work needs some attention bud. Trying to focus on what you are talking about the camera is moving everywhere but otherwise it’s very interesting thanks

My thoughts exactly but that camera had no stability control. Thankfully I have replaced it.
