Only just found your channel Tony, taking your time to fully explain details. So refreshing and helpful. I tried to buy a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E just out of my price range then in 1963.

A real trip down memory lane for me.. Do you get any aged cars which are not concourse where the rust worm has been nibbling? Maybe I haven't scrolled through enough of your vids yet... As always a pleasure to watch. When these came out the Anglia vans had crossply tyres that made them very easy to "drift". Of course I never drifted up the up ramp to the A40 in West London.

Hi Tony. I love your videos. Ford Anglia definitely ticks one of my boxes, a car from my era. Just a quick note. Why is it that the Americans seem to have the monopoly on body working tools and papers? It took me ages to find a UK supplier for Dura Blocks and they were ridiculously expensive and finding sticky backed sanding paper is a nightmare. Every thing on eBay points to the USA.
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
unfortunately your bang on with that comment tbh, we are behing on the times with alot of things and alot is harder to get here than abroad i think amerca just has a larger market especially with 3m and the big firms so things start there and then eventually get to us if your struggling for long papers and rolls try these guys www.globalfinish.com/

Love the resto videos Tony! I was just wondering why you didn't use some of that spray filler to level everything out?
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
+Jack Peters if the whole car needed it then I'd use the spray filler and then block out that way but the lows in this car were so subtle that there was need to add such a large build of material to the car just for the sake of blocking out those areas , I do have a job in currently that il be doing a full hit with polyester spray filler as that's in real Need of a decent solid blocking

enjoyed the vid but noticed you left a probable dry edge on the roof due to starting from each side and working in to the middle. I usually start one edge, work to the middle then walk around and finish from the middle to the opposite side. I guess its only primer though but thought it might make some extra work? Ill subscribe, it looks like you have some great vids, I spray and restore older cars(sprayed diesel locomotives for 4 years too) and watched alot of the Gunmans vids too. Between you both, theres some awesome content! 👌
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
hey man welcome to the channel and thanks for popping over and subscribing hope your enjoying the videos so far, as for the roof yes your right but this job is being fully blocked out by hand top to bottom so its not something that was an issue really or something i was worrying about when i was priming it , my main focus was build for the blocking stage really

Another great video Tony. Do you clean the spray gun in any way between coats, or just leave all the unused paint in the cup, fluid nozzle, etc?
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
not usually unless during the painting the air cap starts to get build up on it then il give that a quick rinse between coats

Another great video Tony. Quick question how do you find the KAPCI primer to flat down i.e. does it clog up the rubbing paper like some of the primers on the market?
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
Its not too bad if im honest but can be quite stodgy in the tin and needs a really good stir to get it smooth before mixing , ive just tried some from jawel paints there own brand one , real cheap but sands lovely and is also smooth as cream from the tin , going to give that some trials next
@chrisn6994
@chrisn6994 7 лет назад
yeah know what you mean. I have been using PPG Koba D838 and need a cement mixer to stir it up but with any paints you have to put in the bench time to get the right results as you know. Let us know how you get on with other primer when you try it out

if you break though to bare metal would you use an acid etch or epoxy primer?
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 7 лет назад
hi paul for small break throughs like we had here i wouldnt but anything bigger than what we had here i would use etch, if it was a full bare metal panel then i would epoxy rather than use etch but thats personal preference
