IN WHICH - we right the ship on a wronged 1965 Fender Showman Amp. I wasn't certain if the Marx Brothers had worked on it. Because I thought it was a joke. Sound fun? Buckle up. It's a bumpy ride...
Good stuff, Scooter! Glad the amp could provide a teachable moment for everyone! 😆 Also glad I'm not the one did the work (or commissioned it). I bought it from a Québécois near Montréal, but I don't think he was the culprit either. Looking forward to part deux and bringing this rescue back home...
Great to see a pro doing his thing..! That was a bit of a mess when it came in. Great info and explanation...Learning all the time..Thanks for sharing..Ed..u.k.. 😀
WELL...I just call it like I see it. I'm not perfect. As a matter of fact my imperfection is documented on this channel. I just do what I love to do and sometimes I point a camera at it.
Wow. I used the 1n5408 to rebuild two amps' rectifiers from memory... I figured overspec was just fine given they cost absolutely nothing. In fact I don't think you even need to do the 3-a-side thing, you can get away with fewer depending on ratings or at least that's what I have read. The issue I found in one amp was the larger diodes have much fatter leads Seriously though why don't people stock diodes and replace the lot properly, I got a hundred for the price of a coffee
