These Daytona's were a dime a dozen back in the day 70s... Who would imagine in your wildest dreams. I wish I could turn back the clock, and buy 'em all up for a few grand a piece. Then turn the clock forward.

I still remember when my folks bought a standard 1969 Charger. I was 6 years old and still remember that ride home from the dealer. Crazy things is they sold in after having it less than a year, used too much gas, which was about $.28 a gallon back then :(

I had a chance to buy one of these in 1977, but, unfortunately, when I called on the first day that it was advertised, it was already sold... for $2,000, can you believe it? Well, I did end up buying a 1973 Trans Am with a Super Duty 455 (1 of 255) :)

It really must be good to work for Adam Sandler well it seems to pay over minimum wage. hahaha, but David Spade really does seem to be a nice, guy and he's been in some great movies, going all the way back too when he was starring with( Chris Farley, one funny ass man that died way too soon. P.S. RIP fat man in a little coat''💰=💉=👼 My baby sister died the same way , she overdosed they did not use Narcan back then ,are they probably could have saved her life she was hooked up to machines for ten days but my mom decided it was no way for her to live, because it's not living at all when your brain dead . 38 years old RIP BABY SISTER

i saw this car in 1988 or '89 at the spring fling in woodley park, van nuys.. you would be hard pressed to find a better restored automobile other than the concours d'elegance cars of course,in the world. you can see your future in the deepest paint ive ever seen on a car

Number 1 fastest Nascar type car sold on the street. 200 mph car ! Chrysler blew the doors off of GM and Ford( Shelby's and AC Cobras) not even in the same league ;AC Cobra ugly too). The is Supercar so baaaaad King Petty CAME back to Dodge! One last thought. People who bought those did not know they would hit the jackpot. They took a chance. That just caught a break. As stated, they couldn't even sell these cars. My neighbor had one, nobody paid attention, if I could remember. GTO's ( esp 65-67 ) boldest designed muscle cars, Boss's and Mustang GT' got most of the press then. The Daytona buyers just got a windfall. No really smart for thought, when people bought them. It happens that way. It's life.

Of the total 503 production 1969 Dodge Daytona's built only 22 were fitted with the 426 HEMI. 4 speed and automatic.

It's kinda hard to believe that David Spade bought this car because he drove one just like it in the movie Joe Dirt, but it wasn't in no shape like this one, it was the ugly yellow one that was all rusty and Banged up , he's got a collection but after purchasing this one,he said he wasn't going to be able to buy another one , for a very long time !. I guess Adam Sandler pays his friends pretty good, but I guess anybody could if they owned their own Movie Studio. dam $900,000 smfh

Is that a T-5 Copper Color. I had a 1970 383 Charger in T-5 with matching interior color. Wished I still had it. But it wasn't a Hemi Daytona. Bucket list is to find a resto mod 1970.

Yes, it is. The Daytona was available in any number of colors, which is surprising considering the limited run available. The Superbird, on the other hand, was only available in seven "high-impact" colors with black vinyl top. Personally, I love the factory color on this Daytona. It's nice to see a Hemi-car look so classy, especially considering its so over-the-top racing body.

These cars look radical, but truth is often different than folk lore.,........when you tally the wins for the aero years, 69 and 70, on the superspeedways, the numbers tell a different story, 22 combined wins for the Talledega Torino and Mercury Cyclone spoiler vs 12 for the Dodges and Plymouths.

Where'd you get those numbers? In the 1970 season, Mopars won 38 of 48 races. The Petty team took more than half of them, including Daytona and Talladega.

@@randolphmullinofsky4761 thats funny, the winged cars were never banned, the winged mopars ALONG with the Talladega Torino and Mercury Cyclone spoiler were all limited to a max engine size of 305 CI if you chose to race one in 1971. Only one team tried, it didnt work........the winged cars won a TOTAL of 16 races between 1969 and 1970......compared to 37 for the drooped nose Fords.........I would suggest you do a little research, Information is easy to get in the internet age.

And BTW, most "sheeple" wouldn't even know, understand or begin to appreciate the unique and wild color selections available to the REAL American MOPAR Muscle cars of that era. I believe it fetching a whopping $900K said it all....
