I don't get around as much as i like. It was awesome to find this video on a complete original CZ (380) 400. I found about 10 years ago a totally original 1973 blue coffin tank C Z 380,right down to the original Pal spark plugs.jikov carb. Barium tires, grips, cables, and even the original valve stim caps with the small piece of rubber tube on them. It is nice to see other CZ bikes that have survived the years and show the bikes in their truest form from the bygone daÿs of MX. Go C- Z !!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I love the old bikes, especially CZ! I have sold a few bikes in the last few years but I don’t have the heart to get rid of this one. It’s too rare and way too original to sell, for any price as far as I’m concerned. I have posted it in the past but always end up taking it down. lol I’m going to keep this one for good now and enjoy it. I appreciate your comment!

I love, love, love those yellow tank CZs! Wanted one to buy one when I was young but to my lasting regret that didn't happen. I'm happy to see this one in the care of someone who loves and understands them.
I've raced and sold a couple 72 CZ 400(380)s...and currently have 2 1974 CZs a 250 and 400 built and modded for vintage racing as well as a very special CZ 125 for the AHRMA Classic class... fantastic dirtbikes.....
As some one who raced mx in those days and have a few restored vintage bikes including a museum quality restored 1974 pursang 250 Pomeroy replica that CZ is a fantastic find in that original condition. The first thing I was going to ask what the condition of the inside of tank was but to hear you say it's pristine is wild since they were steel.....good for you, thanks for sharing 👍
Love it. I had one too. One of the first things my dad and I did was to buy plastic fenders & gas tank, to chop the weight down a bit, but admittedly, you lose that cool stock tank.
That's awesome! A lot of folks did exactly that and I have no issue with it at all, I just wish more people kept the tank and fenders when they decided to sell the bikes years later. I was fortunate that mine never was wrecked enough to damage the tank or fenders.
@@redclaytraveler1949 I'm sure we did at the time, because we didn't just trash everything. It was a '72, but I bought it new in '74 for $900! Sounds insane today, right?
Be sure to grease your swingarm bushings, You don't want them to gall. And I suggest sloshing the tank around. I had a yellow tank 250. They are a sweet bike.
Great little vid. I had a '74 which was gifted to me by my neighbor who raced them in the early '80s, after the kick-back broke his leg THROUGH his racing boot. Much safer to kickstart with your right leg. This thing pulls like a freight train. I don't understand the 80km/h official top end - effortlessly got up to 85 km/h in 2nd gear (measured). Sold it in '85 for equivalent of $150.
I gotta stop watching this video before it becomes another bad habit to break ( 3rd time through!) I just love this lil bike . Now I gotta find one. Somewhere.
@@dancouger3677 I am glad you like it buddy! Go get you a CZ man! They are fun as all get out and they are investments. If you look around a bit you can find a good price on some models. Some are worth more than others, but you can always find a deal if you have the patience.
The only place I could think of would be CZ Charlie in California. I believe his name is Charlie Richardson, I could be wrong, but if you google him you should find him.
Your suppose to stand along side the bike on those European bikes of that era and use your right leg to start them😁 bike sounds bitchen....that was the sound from that era of motocross....lots of bikes then didn't have silencers....ahhh the good ole days!
I may not have but this is loud by anyone's standard. lol It has straight through exhaust as well. lol I don't see nary a muffler or baffle in sight. I love the Jawa bikes as well! I haven't gotten mu hands on one yet though.
@@redclaytraveler1949 Try and get one with a Velorex sidecar. Don't expect to get anywhere quickly though! Just like a manual gearbox is the best anti theft device for a car in the US the combined gear lever\clutch\kickstart is in South Africa.
maybe the frame is 73 but they only made that yellow tank version 71/72, 73 went to the coffin tank model so.... thats a 72 not 73 unless the frame is 73
