I test drove a Europa back in 1989, it was a 72, being for sale at a British sports car repair shop in Houston. It had a good engine and tranny, it was quick, like a rat with sneakers! I could envision having to buy brake pads and tires often!
Always wanted one of these but at 6ft 3 inches I'd never fit and as always niggled me. That twin cam engine was so much of an improvement over the previous Renault lump. So frustrating when you want one but its pointless if you can't dive it.
Always remember the old saying about LOTUS...Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious. A friend of mine back in the 70's had one and told me he was so glad he had access to a second car. Looks lovely though... someone will buy it.
