Don't know what's up with the Vette, but the '74 had a two piece rear end, you can see the big seam down the middle from 50 yards. Either that's not a '74 or maybe the owner couldn't find the right year part to replace a damaged one. Never really understood why Dr. Olds would have made the pace car option available on a Cutlass and not limit it to the 442 only.

Always great to have a new C&Z video waiting in the morning. I was slightly disappointed because the commentary was a bit more "subdued" than normal, but I recognize that our favorite combination of innuendo/toilet humor does take time and effort, so hopefully the next video will attain the high standards we have all come to appreciate from Cars and Zebras. FYI, my 17 year old and I always enjoy when the "Boomer" character shows up griping about how things were "back in my day...". Keep up the good work C&Z!!

Even then in the start of the low powered heavy smog laden era, the L82 was still being underrated. Just look at those low RPM numbers. The L82 with it's slightly higher compression, aprox 9.2 vs. 8.5, higher lift longer duration cam and much better flowing heads could safely turn 6,000 RPM with peak H.P. at 5,600 RPM. True H.P. was 280-300. At the crank of course. Quite good for mid-70's! Build a 350 as close as possible to '74 L82 specs and dyno it! You will see.

Had the same engine in a '74 Z/28. Definitely a quick car, especially for the era. Had headers when I bought it and ran strong. Added an intake and Holley. Fun car, especially after swapping the anti-roll bars with the WS6 T/A bars.

@@Turbo4Joe363 still had decent heads and cam. Add some compression, headwork, good dual plane intake, Holley 3310, headers and it will make decent power. But since everything is trending towards the LS motors it doesn't matter now.
