I was 9 and boy do I recall the Bicentennial 1776-1976 hype!!! Everything was bi!!! bi comics, bi candy, bi playing cards, bi cereal!! But the freedom train came though my town , that was very good.
Ah the bicentennial year We lived in Canada Fort Erie Ontario I remember when we went to see What's up doc 1976 at the Garrison cinema there The county Fair mall Young Frankenstein Murder on t he orient express Blaising Saddles The Bad News Bears Walter Mathau mom hated that movie Dinner at chaineys or the crook and block. Prime rib with a baked potato A night out was out treat as kids And if we wanted Chinese we Went to the King wah Gardens Chinese waiters in red tuxedos And black bow ties the food was Piping hot and delicious and it was Subdued lighting what childhood memories the last time i went back there was 1989 it was a dump ot was buffet style No waiters in red tuxedos The food was cold you had to help Yourself and had stayed in the Trays for days maybe weeks It was awfull I miss dinner and a movie With my folks My dad died Oct 2 2016 My mom is too old to go out We live in florida now oh well That's memories for ya Looking back in 2020 At my life as a kid during The bicentennial year Going from canada to Buffalo to see Star Wars My father couldn't say Star wars he kept saying War Stars and the customs man Laughed when we all chimed in With Star Wars yes those were The days and i missed them so As a kid
