5:25 "Saturday Night Live" with Howard Cosell. NBC's "Saturday Night" premiered in October without the "live" in their name since it was taken by Cosell. That's why each SNL episode now still begins with the "live from New York, it's SATURDAY NIGHT". Fun fact: George Carlin was the first host, the only reason my 16-year-old self tuned in.
Amazingly enough, Bill Murray worked on Howard Cosell's SNL before he came over to NBC's. He and two others formed what the show called The Prime Time Players. When the NBC show wanted a name for their comedy troupe, one of the writers came up with "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players". ETA: the Ed Sullivan Theatre, where Cosell did his show, is where twenty years later David Letterman would go to CBS to do his late night show.
Not James Buchanan High School-It’s called New Utrecht High School. My late mother’s Alma mater. She was autistic and was in the remedial class. Which sadly, was not called the “sweathogs” either…!
