1975 First Prudential World Cup Cricket Championship 🏆 At Lords, London 🇬🇧 . West Indies Champion 🏆 Runners Australia 🇦🇺🦘. My Age Of 18 Years Old . I Listen To Radio Broadcasting In Final Match. Two Team Was Great Players.
West Indies Players Was Captain Cl. Loyds, Viv. Richards, Greenige., Henes, Malcom Marshal, Joel Gerner, Holding, and Others. Australia 🇦🇺🦘Team Was Leely, Thomshon, Gilmore, Greg and Ian Chappel.
Changed cricket forever. Fantastic concept and incredible final match. The Aussies got to the ground at 8 am and were still there at 9 at night. Imran , Grenidge, Richards ,Andy Roberts and many other great players started their climb to stardom, Sri Lanka entered big cricket. The game itself was a ripper. People forget Rohan Kanhai's innings which set up the West Indies innings. Roy Fredericks hitting a huge six but accidentally hitting the stumps with his foot , a year later in Australia Fredricks hit one of the best centuries ever played in Australia. Clive Lloyd won the game but he should have been caught by Ross Edwards who probably only dropped one catch in his whole career. Helped set up the West Indies for their dominance after the lessons learnt from their tough Australia n tour later that year and more importantly gave pride and joy to all the West Indians living in South London and the U.K .
Greatest Captain of all time along with Steve Waugh. Altough Alan Border is the greatest Australian Captain but Steve Waugh built the strongest Australian team and passed the baton to Ricky Ponting.

@@krishnenduroyadhikary3576 England did 2 boundaries in super over and NZ only one.According to the rules of ICC if score gets tie in Super over the team with more boundaries wins

Man it’s awesome seeing such long boundaries with no boards on them with everyone sitting down together on benches an chilling together peacefully in hope of their team winning.
Where did the past 45 years go!? Very fond memories of watching this game on tv as a kid, and great to see the ascent of the West Indies. For many years afterwards they used to show Clive Lloyd's hook shot in the opening credits of Grandstand on BBC1
I remember how much awe they had from that time through to the early 90s. You knew your team was probably going to get a hiding but you'd go just to watch the likes of Viv & Ambrose in action.
But since long downfall of wistindes cricket team is carry on more than twenties years ago wistindes are in downfall weak teams poor performance wistindes cricket team in
I was there with my dad. First time I ever heard the word 'excruciating' was in reference to the old boundary wooden benches (now at Twyford School nr. Winchester). It was definitely more comfortable on the grass just inside the rope. Lillee was fielding right by us, chatting to the crowd. I remember him feigning relief at Fredericks' dismissal and making everyone laugh. Someone said he'd hit the ball so hard it ended up in the dressing room. The old man always insisted on taking the family's best China to Lords. I guess you could say he had a sense of occasion. I had to carry it all staggering down Lissom Grove. But we always had a good lunch. Dad was a man of Kent. Such a great side; Knottie Underwood Ealham Luckhurst Asif ... Canterbury and The St Lawrence as close to an earthly paradise as could be in the early seventies. Halcyon days treasured and never forgotten. Lords had to eventually ask dad to retire from stewarding. He was 82! Took it with good grace like a true cricketer. Love you dad!
Thank you for that memory! This match My Dad and I were at the barbers getting trimmed. Then we drove home for the Aussie innings. We only rented a colour TV in '74, same time my Dad bought a car from where he worked at Ford's Dagenham. Tests he'd watch during the day after working nights and I'd watch with him in the summer holidays, making him tea. He used to like Kanhai so Kanhai became my favourite too!
My pleasure AMA. I also remember a West Indian supporter with a hand bell. He was wearing at least a couple of large rosettes and ringing this bell shouting his head off. Going round the boundary preaching to the crowd. The patois was thick. This was before the match started. I got his autograph. Dad reckoned it said Mr. Simpson.
@@uli3651 Wonderful memories! I was 4 and missed it but love hearing about it vicariously through people like yourself who were lucky enough to experience it. Was at Old Trafford in 84 for Viv's incredible innings. Where has the atmosphere gone to?
The bit of the story I missed (because it's still painful) is that with Lords descending into total anarchy and the light distinctly murky dad decided we had to go catch the last Greenline home. I still remember my incredulity but followed him out into St John's Wood leaving Thompson and Lillee on the tip of destiny. Watching them now leaning on their bats, they were the coolest people in the whole place. Years later I asked him why and he shrugged saying there was no other way of getting home.
Give credit to Australia really they were favorites run outs and dropped catches resulted in losing still they fought like a lion only country to win five world cups in all continents Lloyd himself admitted in 2019 world Cup defeating Australia he couldn't believe they were professionals happy because of Kerry packer westindies resurgence started playing world Series benefited fast bowlers emerged why people hate Australia because of jealousy simply labelling racism even if it is there many positives with them why highlight only negativity
Clive loyds a courageous captain of West indies he took unbeatable side during middle 70s to middle 80s only because he has finest fast bowler forever Andy Joel marshal and batsman Vivian greenidge and Haynes as opener
Missed one finest fast bowler his name could not recalled before now I recall Micheal holding and marshal during all eighties threatened all world cricket especially devil on the dreams of English batsmen every english batsman ran away to keep alive from the bouncers
@@BatMan-oe2gh Joel corner Andy Roberts Michael holding Melcombe marshal then successors curtly ambrose Courtney Walsh threatened the cricket world so Clive loads and Vivian Richards conquered all cricket teams ian bishop patrician Patterson good pacers after them now West indies changed their own pitches as like in India now rely on spin bowlers and medium pacers like old Indian teams so they went under ratting now
Hahahahah that used to be hilarious😂 many times people used to accidentally trip players or take their belongings like a bat or pads because they would just throw them and run lol..especially in the sub-continent. Remember when a fan tripped Younis in a local match and he beat the guy😂
true spirit of the gentleman's game of cricket .. isn't it . and it's the one of golden ears of cricketing history it's very sad to see that currently we all just missed those kind of cricket / cricketing culture .....
That 'golden era' and gentlemanly spirit was broken by Australia in our winter tour when Lillee and Thomson went berserk. After that serieswe responded with four fast bowlers and the rest was history..A new era.
The ground ,Lords, held 28 ,000 people. The Lords admin people reckoned they could have sold a quarter of a million tickets,250,000 tickets such was the demand for tickets. It was a complete sell out and a great match and a great day for the people who got off their arses and went to see the game live ,thus contributing go a fabulous atmosphere at Lords.A wonderful day !

Watching in January 2023 in San Francisco, California, USA on you tube, in colours, the lords grounds, very delighted to see alrounder skipper Clive llyod receiving world cup from HRH Prince Phillip in 1975. I was then around 15 years old, never imagined the cricket test match can be so beautiful in colors. In delhi india colored TV came in 1982 Asian games in delhi. I was in Kuwait with my father. My father sent National Panasonic, made in Japan tv to my elder brother, my mother & sister from Kuwait to Delhi. My elder brother who was doctor, has to take import permission to get tv custom duty free facility given to indians by pm Mrs indira gandhi to get colored TV sets from family members living abroad to watch asian games 1982 held in delhi india.. The todays main thrilling moments were to see great legend sir Greig chappel of kangaroos Australia batting. Amazed to see batsman playing pacers on both sides, without safety gourds. Legend sir Greig chappel larer become coach for indian cricket team & was become a household name as Chappal, a common name in hindi language for sleepers. Mr Greig chappel has to resign due to then dirty politics of indian cricket players. Thrilled to see pacers Lilly & Thompson. Thanks to you tube & Samsung tab & great American technology to have all world in our hands. Sanjay bahal at San Francisco California USA from New Delhi.
@Aditya Crash helmets did exist for other sports like baseball, American football, ice hockey, Grand Prix. It's just that cricketers didn't want to use them until 1978.
West Indies had a golden chance to make it 3 in a row in 1983 when they were still the best. They floored the oppurtunity. 1987 with Richards leading the side and shocking elimination in early stages. Unfancied England beat then in both league matches only to lose to a then weak Australuan team in the final
Superb stuff! Wonderful innings from Clive Lloyd with an iconic DF bat, proper cricket with a red ball, Chapelli's shirt ¾ undone, and the West Indies fans in flares and platform shoes! 😂
First world cup. I was 15 years old. I remember going to do my GCE geography in the Community Centre adjacent to the Valley Secondary School as it then was on Anguilla. West Indies were in trouble v Pakistan. When I finished my exam, I could not believe it when my cousin told me West Indies had won. Roberts and Murray with the last wicket partnership. The good old days. almost 49 years ago.
Incredible game. It is seen now as the start of the West Indies' period of dominance but were it not for dropped catches and woeful running between the wickets, Australia would have won easily.
@@amoghvastrad3352 Just watch the highlights of England-Australia-Pakistan tri series in 2001. Happened in every match, Michael Bevan was injured in the final by a beer can thrown by the audience.
That all changed after 2 infamous events in the 80's. During the '82/83 Ashes a fan came onto the pitch and Terry Alderman busted his shoulder - rugby tackling him to the ground. He was out injured for the rest of the series The other incident happened on the last day of the 1st Ashes test of 1985 at Headingley. Allan Lamb hooked the winning runs but Geoff Lawson, trying to catch the ball, was bundled over by the crowd coming onto the pitch. Although unharmed the Australians were, needless to say, not very pleased. The days of fans running onto the pitch stopped shortly afterwards.
That was still allowed in England until the year 2000. I ran onto the pitch at Edgbaston in the year 2000 when the test match against West Indies ended. The next year, in 2001, they stopped people doing it. You can see the crowd are still allowed to run on at the end of the second test match in 2000 at Lords on this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tAne308rEyo.html
