The Alfetta 1.6 used to be our family car in the early 80s. Initially beige with cloth interior. Rusted so badly that my parents had a total restoration of the body and had it painted in the same red as yours. Also, our dog totally wrecked the seats, so my father and I purchased a black vinyl interior from a scrapeyard and swapped it. I also can't count how many exhaust silencers we had to change. But one thing for sure, the car was beautiful, comfortable and the engine bulletproof if properly warmed up. Also never had any electrical issue. I'd like to buy one as classic for sure.
My father had a '76 2.0 litre, Spica fuel injection, Blue w/ the tan vinyl interior. It later went to me and I drove it for a couple of years. Great car when it ran, spent a lot of time fixing and tuning. Eventually by year 2000, the chassis had corroded away so badly, the torsion bar mounts failed and the front end collapsed. Memories!~~
Tenuta bene e motore perfetto aveva il babbo alfetta 1800 rossa Era sempre in corsia di sorpasso e le uscite agli autogrill...indimenticabili ...motore cantava
I have a 1978 Alfetta that is almost as nice as yours. I consider the styling to be the best ever--ever, although the Peugeot 504 came awfully close in the same era. No evidence that it was the same designer. Both are real beauties.
