You built that thing exactly like I want too. Throw in a H55 5speed and I bet I would be a great daily driver. Really got me thinking about restoring my dad’s old 72 FJ-40. Let me know if you can recommend any shops in central Oklahoma.
Thanks for the Land Cruiser videos. Keep them coming. I really like how you kept the essence of what Toyota built and just upgraded it to modern standards and made it better without putting a 400 horsepower Chevy V8 in it or a coil spring suspension. I was wondering why you chose the Holley Sniper fuel injection system as opposed to the Howell fuel injection system? I've watched several videos about people who have installed the Holley system and have had numerous problems with the reliability of it. Some of them actually were so disappointed with it that they went back to a carburetor. Are you using the 4 speed transmission? I've heard the 5 speed transmission with overdrive is a big improvement and really reduces engine RPMs and quiets the inside of the truck. What else do you have planned for your Land Cruiser?

Sonny Martinez at: FJparts.net has a pretty good supply. Cool Cruisers, Cruiser Corps and of course the dealer are also good sources. Some dealers are more versed in the vintage rigs than others so don’t give up if your local dealer isn’t helpful. Specter Off Road is another good source. I bought a lot of my engine parts from John at JT Outfitters.
David, they were slightly oversized valves and seats from a Chevy six cylinder engine. I don’t recall the exact dimension but I will post that up if I can find the measurements. The theory was that with slightly more displacement we might benefit from the extra volume. Based upon the performance, it seems it was a good call. Thanks for watching.
I don’t have the part number but contact Vintage Air. They should be able to help you. I was told it is an early Chevy one wire unit. You will need to request the wide belt pulley.
