I am not an advocate for taking out the shot clock (although I wish it had stayed at :35, which allowed for a variety of styles), but it was sometimes interesting watching how teams probed the other's defenses. But there were so many things I loved about eras such as this when players stayed 4 years. As a Midwest kid, I used to get to know entire lineups for the Big Ten schools. Now you have the "one & done" guys or the ones onto their 3rd school.
I could only imagine how the good shooters back then would have benefitted from the 3 point line. I'm glad the NCAA did not adopt the 19' three point line that the ACC experimented with in 1982-83
