By far one of favorite Star Wars toys. One of the big weaknesses of the toy design were the rectangular pegs at the ends of the soft plastic truss columns. The plastic would get fatigued and eventually break off after a lot of taking them in and out of the floor slots. I always had to put it away when I was done playing with it so it wasn't long before they started to all snap off even while being very careful. I loved it so much I tried taping it together but it would fall apart pretty easily while playing. So for my birthday I asked for another one as my main gift. One of my favorite memories playing with any Star Wars toy was when I finally got my new Death Star and invited my friend over who brought his. We each put our Death Stars together and then I taped together my old broken one and we placed them all together into a half circle. As a kid it seemed like the pinnacle of life having 3 Death Stars joined together. You have an amazing collection. Thanks again for sharing.
Again a true great story you have and I love it. In some European countries like England or France we have the Palitoy Death Star cardboard playset and it was half a sphere. a bit fragile but a lot a fun as a kid with friends. It's a really cool toy, but I love the Palitoy Death Star. As it was released in France, the Palitoy one was available for Christmas 1980 and it was a lot fun back then.
I spent hours and hours with mine, my parents knew a guy who worked at Kenners in Cincinnati,OH and they bought a lot of stuff from him for me. Alot of specialty stuff that u would send parts of the cards in to get mailed to U. I wasn't spoiled except when it came to Star Wars bc I had a birth defect that required 23 surgeries by 18 yr old. Something I really regret when I was 16yr old the neighbors 3 houses down the street had 7 foster kids and a few adopted so i thought it would be the Nice Christian thing to do is give all my Star Wars Toys to them 6 huge boxes. I never thought it would b worth so much money. My mom passed away in 2018 and one of the kids now 40 something came up to give Condolences and we talked about me giving them my SW toys, she said 2weeks earlier she was putting a flower garden in and when digging she wound Hammer Head. Lol Everything else was gone. Boy do I wish I had all that back. Question is there a site or Catalog from Kenners where I can look at all the stuff they made that I had? Your videos are too short. You should go ahead and just play with the toys like yyou are 10 year old. Do it. Play the toys so we can feel how it feels to play the toy.
It is interesting thought but those videos are made to display the toy as it is. But why not making several videos with the toy "in action" one day. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for watching !
@@ChroniqueVintage Go ahead and play the toys like you arre 10 year old. It would be so fun to watch. Call a buddy of yours and drink beer while you play this toy. Nobody wants to see a bunch of stupid kids play the toy. We want to see 45 year old man play this toy. It would be so much fun.
