Nice! Luv the left side kick start! My 83 had left side kick start ....and it was "the fastest 250 ever! I had it from 1994 to 2005...and I raced every make of bike on the market ...and smoked them all!!

I had a 81 cr250 and a 81 Cr 450. Both bikes had brutal handling and brakes. However the 250 had a broader PowerBand but never bikes I was fond of.

Was that CR 450 the one with a terrible gearbox?

@@angrytater2456 yeh. But both had brutal suspension and brakes. The front loved locking up on both bikes.

@@angrytater2456 on a side note the 450 was extremely fast when you hit the narrow band. It loved to be riden hard.

I had a 1981 cr250 as well. I remember one of the shifting forks cracked or broke and the dealer repaired it. It was an issue with that bike. I don’t remember if dealer covered cost or not.

Man I just went back and watched the video on the 81 mugen and all I can say is this silencer on this one sounds killer.

It sounds like a 1973 CZ MX 250. USA models came with a chromed, above engine expansion chamber! And the nice red-orange black lettered gas tank. The exhaust note separated them from everyone else, just as this Honda 125 Elsinore does 😅 incredible!

Nice! I had the bike when i was a young dude, what a blast to ride . Bike ran great , then traded it for a 1983 CR480R. which was even more fun to ride . Love to watch the Kaplan videos , bings back so many memories . Thanks for another great video .

Nice looking CR 125. Sounds strong. I didn't know that Honda CR's first came out with liquid cooling in 125. Sucks that y'all found out it wouldn't shift after you did all of that work. Either way, somebody will be getting a real good deal.

I had the same bike and it was very mild in power, the suspension sucked and handling too. It turned like a long Limousine, you had to crawl up on the tank and feather the clutch to turn.

Nice sounding bike can’t imagine what the 250 I had a chance to ride a new kid in the neighborhood brand new 81 CR 125. It was a rippa. So I think that day I caught the CR fever!

1982-83 they perfected CR Hondas. My favorite bikes . This year they were still funky .

Why do you destroy the aluminium with polishing it? If it would be a rare coin in a collection, you would take value away from it.

@@KaplanCycles I do know that any mechanical abrasive method is a big no no! Even though Scotchbrite isn´t THAT abrasive, but still is. I often get the feeling you are kind of putting makeup on a pig, i´ve seen several times on different bikes small questionable things that you claim to be like new.

I just bought the same bike but I have a Mugan cylinder and head on mine,it rips.The only thig I don't like is the left side kick start.

Man I think you have become obsessed with polishing aluminum since you got the truck done. Some of these bikes just really shouldn't be polished like that. That's just my personal opinion though. Sometimes it's alright.

Why shouldn't they be polished? It makes them look better. The polish certainly isn't gonna hurt them.
