1989 CR250R, of mine, is radically ported. ( Thankfully, we didn't ruin it.) It has a rusty Pro-Curcuit pipe that gives the needed top end rpm's. These bikes are balanced, so that they feel very light and nimble. Mine pulls like a rocket in 3rd and 4th gears. It looks okay, but not near as sharp as yours! Congratulations on your work. You didn't have to clean it up that nice, but it looks really good! Thanks for the video!
Holy moly that is some fine piece of machinery !! I picked one up broken, rebuilt the engine, welded the exhaust need to do shock rebuild and forks and its set to go. Great video just fix the angles on oboard shots and do more of this. Kind Regards from Sarajevo
Running fat as fuck. Turn that air screw twice. Reset your inlet needle. Or jet change. Scrap that old PJ. Put in a PWK airstyker. What a monster my 89CR250R is. Absolute beast.
Nice definitely good to see it up and running looks like you gave her a little cosmetic refreshing too with them bad ass handguards and new rubber man what a beauty my 89 is almost on its rotation I'm on the YZ right now LOL 89 is next
I have a pretty clean ‘89 cr250 that I’ve owned since like ‘03. Always thought it sounded a little noisy but if your engine is any indication of how they sound when they’re healthy then pretty sure she’s ok😅. Had the motor rebuilt years ago and never got to ride it much after that. I dig the 87(?) shroud graphics too! Very nice build!
He needs to do some carb work. The HPP motor is a weapon. Insane. And yes, they sound like little tractors when idling! Sink the clutch, that chatter should go away.
Pull your left power valve cover. I don't think your power valve system is opening properly. Rev it. It should open and close as RPM drops. Did you time them according to the manual. Its easy to miss time them. The spindles cannot be interchanged either. Did you engage the power valve governor if everything was timed proper provided you had the top end off the bike. It just sound flat. My apologies if I've offended your mechanical expertise. Those HPP motors can be fussy.
Great Vudeo and a super nice 89 CR 250. My dream vintage bike. I'm looking for one. Ok with a restoration project. Anybody out there knows of one for sale...please let me know. Thanks.
