Replica or not, it's an HZ31, the Group B homologation version that the real Z31 Nismo rally car was based on (and all other Z31's that were rallied in period across Asia and the United States). It's an awesome build, and that 6 speed will only make it better!
Since the price of Infiniti G35 is dirt cheap, I been thinking about doing the same thing. Making a g35 sedan with the Datsun liverly, add rally coilovers, add a skidplate, some off road tires, some 350z seats, add some harnesses, weld its differential and a rollcage. Find some old Honda CBR 900rr headlights on the bumper and some off road lights on the roof. Clean out the hydrocarbons in the engine, change the headgaskets, add a oil catch can, change its sparkplugs, basically change its fluids in its engine, transmission and differential. Go some grass roots racing. It'll still be less than $7,000 spent on the car to go racing and you can bring friends to jump😅.
Oh damn, no joke, I was debating on buying that exact Z31 a while ago. Ended up getting a pretty minty AE instead which I am very happy with. Cool to see that this one will be getting a lot of love.
@@z31online I tried to link it the thing I read about it, but youtube just deletes the comment and doesn't tell me. look up "モンスタースポーツ 1985" and it should pop up
That car competed in the '85 American SCCA Pro Rally, and did use a Datsun truck 4wd system. The VG ended up being moved to the side slightly in the engine bay to accommodate everything.
Absolutely! The 350z CD009 is just garbage!! The z32 30a is stronger for sure. But if you want a 6speed, definitely get a Tremec Magnum-F or the T56 from the Fbody Camaro !
