Are you sure there isn't just extra light bleeding into the open chassis causing the picture to be washed out? Even still, you project looks great as it is. I can't see much room for improvement.
The problem I’m running into is a known problem with Sony LCD projection where the light filters deteriorate. At the top of the screen there is a red tint and blue at the bottom and it will get worse with time. So I need to find a replacement chassis. This was not obvious when I first did it
@@ChadBoughton I think I know the ultimate, sustainable solution to this issue. Look into getting a business class short-throw projector. They are usually 1024x768 (4:3 XGA), they are very small, they don't weigh much, and when it fails, you can buy a new one! In the options menu there is also an option to flip/reverse the display. They typically have a lot of lumens, too, as they expect you will use them against an ambient light source. Image how bright it would be in a dark TV cabinet!

i had one of those sony hight def rear projection tvs it was really good. im pretty sure all dlp chips is made by texas instruments but i think there is 12 bit and 16 bit chips
