@KAPLAN AMERICA God, watching this video brings back a lot of good memories from when I was a teenager. I bought a used 1984 CR250 when I was 17 back in 1986...yeah I'm old, LOL. That engine was a powerhouse, great power at low, medium and high RPM. I loved taking it down to Flat River and the MX track that used to be at Beaumont/Antire road off of highway 44. I'm currently rebuilding a 1985 CR250 so hopefully this coming Spring, I'll be riding again. Kaplan America, keep up the good work!

Beautiful bike. I miss my 1986 Yamaha YZ 250. The 80's were a great time to be into riding dirt bikes!!!!

1984 was the best CR I can remember.. Engine with standard pipe was like an electric motor, almost and gear and twist the throttle, was such a linear powerbond.. fantastic

Yes that year had the best power out put. They needed to emphasize that point in the video. This year 250 are highly saught after motors competitive today

Amazing how much they evolved every year, had to buy a new one every year, a one year old bike was obsolete. They got alot stronger, and the removable subframe was awesome to work on. Always wanted to do an 87 with an 88 frame, tank and seat, shock. 87 shock linkage, motor, forks. Loved the ol flash red cr red orange color. Evo 80s CR's get me excited too lol.

You guys deserve a BIG! pat on the back for all the work you do. Keeping these dream machines alive for people to enjoy 20,30,40,50, years from when they first hit the market looking way better than then they did back then and still rippin way past anybody's expectations as to how long these bikes would last. A lot of bikes either get wrote off or parted out so keeping these bikes alive is a real treat. Good job boys!

I had a 1984 CR125. I had ridden dual sports before, but it was my first motocross bike, my first brand new bike and my first attempt at racing. As Ken says it was cutting edge it was the first year to have all of the major advancements. I should have bought the 250 but I am a short guy and the 125 was a bit smaller. In my club the classes went by level but were open meaning I rode against 250s and 500s on a 125. I won a series but never a race. I had a few seconds and a lot of thirds. There were a few sections with hills and deep sand and the 125 was like bringing a knife to a gun fight. I am sure I would have moved from junior to senior class if I had the 250. Years later I moved to 250 2-strokes and today 450 4-stroke. This restoration is a beautiful example that looks like new. As a small consolation I have a fridge magnet of a 1984 CR250 in my kitchen. PS I had a picture of Donny "Holeshot" Hansen on my bedroom wall. We was wearing white Gaerne boots, Answer Team Honda pants and had a gorgeous blonde beside him. I bought all of the same gear yet did not meet the playboy bunny or become an AMA champion. Clearly grounds for a false advertising lawsuit! I still have the boots, the size 32 pants which I could never squeeze into and my Bell Moto helmet in my basement.

I also had the 125 in 84’ it got a Pro Circuit Pipe and a better air cleaner. 2 years later I got the 86’ CR 250 and that was an awesome bike. Wish I still had it.

@@mikebressler8951 It's probably not that easy for everyone I'm sure. I've been trying to convince a buddy of mine for years to hop on one. He rides quads, dirt bikes, Etc. Has zero interest in motorcycles though. Also, not everybody has a supportive significant other. God knows I don't LOL. We fight tooth-and-nail over the motorcycles, but she knows it's a battle she'll never win. Been doing it since I was born

Bikes were fun then because they had a lot of technology but they were still lightweight machines. 1983 CR125 was 193 pounds with alloy bolts stock everywhere. Trust me 193 pounds v 267 pound 4 stroke is night and day on fun factor.

Dear KAPLAN AMERICA Team, do you happen to have a source for parts for a 1984 CR250? I'm looking for a water pump impeller and kick-start ratchet? Alternatively, the entire 1986 water pump system can be converted, are there enough new water pump wheels? Warm greetings from Germany
