This is a short movie that I put together for a project. It shows clips of the 1984 Soviet parade commemorating the 67th anniversary of the October Revolution of the Bolsheviks. The song is Hans Zimmer's Crimson Tide Main Theme.
I will never get tired of seeing that moment at 1:51, when the true scale, might, majesty and discipline of the proletariat at arms, under the righteous banner of Lenin, is revealed to us in all its glory.
Greetins from Finland 🇫🇮 my both grandfathers fought against your invasion 1939-1944....still independent you fuckers! From finnish army sergeant reservist
If you care to respond, may I respectfully ask, what do you mean by “1917-FOREVER!”??? I notice you have the Russian flag 🇷🇺 next to the American flag 🇺🇸, but not the Soviet red flag. Is that to mean that you’re against Communism / Socialism??
@Niccolo Paganini - Nice catch. I can’t believe I missed that. So now it makes sense. He a Commie. LOL 😝 Offhand, I like your avatar. Paganini is my favorite composer for violin 🎻 pieces, and most of them are very difficult to play. Anyway, thanks for correcting me.
The Soviet Union is an Eternal Red Dawn - the centerfold of incessant Honour - The Motherland personifies glory and valor for the life of mankind. As an American - I have realized how much of Her absence has made America become a dysfunctional and political ebb. I respect the Motherland - She made the 80's a true and proud time to be American. American Leaders teach and taught lies - The USSR made that clear to I as a child. The modern day pinnacle of dedicated soldaten - Long Live The USSR!!
+Lucifer First: the Russians have a motherland Second: Serbs have a motherland Third: Every honest man on the planet will not sell their own motherland!
peacemaker America is a scab on the face of the planet and I refuse to fight for this country. I will fight for a Country that deserves to be fought for.
USSR is not collapsed completely, Kazakhstan have been founded EEU with Belarus and Russia. so they attempt to extend their scale with solidarity. but this union is not Socialism.
@@panama2468 Thank you, James Connolly was an amazing Irish socialist revolutionary who took part in the 1916 Easter Rising which in turn gave the British Empire a bloody nose. He was injured during the uprising and was unable to stand so they sat him in a chair and executed him. In doing so the British Empire scored an own goal against itself and were eventually forced to pull down their flag six years later. There is a bronze statue of James Connolly in Dublins North Inner City. You should visit it sometime.
@@sidewindersid4180 I had never heard of him and I do a good amount of research on socialist icons. Naturally, what the British did, and do, was horrific. I'll definitely bookmark that site, and If I am lucky, I will visit. Thank u
@@panama2468 check him out. The irish revolutionary movement leaders at the start of the twentieth century were made up of an ecclectic and unusual mix of personalities. However regardless of their middle class background (yes, middle class) they shared the one vision of an independent and socialist irish state. Now, when they achieved that vision they started to shoot the shit out of each other(and that's a wholedifferentstory), but the will was there initially
I was born in USSR, but I never lived in it. Growing up I was always wondering if people actually liked Soviet Union, and I guess they were! I have been traveling to many country, plus ex-Soviet Unions ones. I talked to many people and I always asked them the same question and MOST of the people always answer the same, that they wish that Soviet Union never broke up.
You would have starved without capitalism, i have many non-russian soviet born friends and from them i have never heard a good thing about Soviet Union. It certainly not what it is claimed to be
well, what women remember about communism is that they were young and beautiful, while men remember they could still get an errection. communism is murder and so was the Soviet Union. stupid people like them both, but that is precisely because they are fucking stupid.
Contrary to what westerners think, most of USSR citizens didn't want the country to fall apart in strive for ''freedom''...There was a referendum in 1991, and almost all republics had majority of people voting for staying in USSR, except Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and another one from central Asia, not sure which one. And there will be new USSR sooner or later, it just wont be communist and wont be called USSR. But everything is going in the direction that Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and more smaller republics would form a new state. Its just natural.
i don't think it'sa good idea, there are important cultural differences that requires separate states, people have a right to self determination after all.
Kamfrenchie You mean like the cultural difference between union states and confederate states? You mean like the cultural differences of Tartars and Russians who have lived together for hundreds of years? Contrary to popular belief, with some exceptions such as the tzarist "whites" post-revolution, neither Imperial nor Soviet Russia oppressed minorities. In the process of integration, some of the countries conquered in WW2 were oppressed, but it would be foolish to expect the people of a conquered country to submit without grumbling or protest. All of the cultures in Russia have always been valued for their diversity. Unlike USA which insisted on exterminating the Native American population, Russian colonists traded with Siberian natives, and then with Native Americans up and down the Alaskan territories (including as far south as California). To this day, there are still people in Siberia that live in igloos, and a life reminiscent of ancient Siberian native, granted they have better guns for hunting, better fishing rods for fishing, steel tools to assist in carving out fishing holes in ice, etc. There is still a huge amount of ethnic Tartars throughout Russia, despite their horde being defeated centuries ago. Even in Soviet times, my father recalls Stalin ordering some ethnic group (can't recall what it was called) relocated because they were being descriminated against. Some may call it exile, but if you recieved compensation, a new house, and basically an entire village to live amongst like-minded people without discrimination, surely that would be better than shedding blood to prove a point? The West has a tendency to judge Russian actions by Western history of ethnic genocide, and racial discrimination. I had a few Russian friends who varied in their ethnicity, and they would constantly harrass each other for their differences, but at the end of the day, they would fight for one another, as did all the ethnic groups of the USSR in WW2.
I am sure the Americans miss The Soviet Union, they had more respect for them now and they are sorry they helped the Taliban in Afghanistan, The Russians were doing a good job of crushing these terrorists if the Soviets had been successful 9/ 11 would not have happened, this was the payment the U.S got. for helping these.bastards,
If only the CIA did not supply the Mujaheddin for their war on communism, and they just let the soviet's handle it, there probably would be more peace in the middle east than there is today.
I just love this video. Sets the mood so correctly, brings the moments to so right. Another thing I'm finding rather odd is how religious Russia is becoming. Things sure have changed since the Soviet Union. But alas, like the saying goes,"If you don't miss the Soviet Union, you have no heart, but to want it back means you have no brain."
Very well put together, makes you remember how much the soviet PEOPLE, not the government, how much accomplished in the past century. They saved the world from Fascism, they were the first to begin space exploration, and they were the same, peaceful, nice people like all over the world.
When I was a soldier stationed at Ft Bliss Texas I was bored one night and stumbled across this on RU-vid. I remember understanding at that point how lucky we were to not have an adversary as passionate, determined, and capable as them. Up until this actual video I had an arrogant and complacent attitude of dismissiveness towards other country's. 1:50 is what game me a well deserved shiver lol.
im from ireland and i hope one day my country will be united as one under a socialist government many good irishmen have died for the cause of creating a socialist unified country, i salute my comrades of socialism from all over the world where ever they may be,☭
@Kanwer Vikram Why? Doubt our power? I assure you We need our Homeland of the USSR without it is very difficult for us! We will rebuild it, the Russians are not slaves of money!
@Kanwer Vikram Many people of different nationalities want the revival of the Soviet Union! They 're our Friends! We 'll build our factories with them, plant apple gardens around! We will have no unemployed! There will be a beautiful pure Socialist world! and we will sing songs together in the languages of our peoples!)
@Kanwer Vikram What was scared? Yankee! Afraid of the Russians! Be afraid! You want to be beaten! You will be! And the USSR we will build on evil to you! Effigy! Get out of here!
Against all odds we stood united, and fell divided. A hard lesson that apparently wasn't learned yet in full by all Russian people, but just some of us.
Englush this mindless Russians killed there own super power USSR.....in this 25 years what Russians has achieved I think just nothing... In space exploration Russia became slow down, only the military might be strong because of USSR shadow........ However even putin can't able to make Russia super power once again.... As per my view Russia can't suitable for democracy or monorchy..... Communism is best way Russians
bushwhakked But hope is still allive, in Russia there are still many communists and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is, i think still the most powerful party in kreml, after Putins Party United Russia, maybe one Day, world will see how communism rises again, because in other former soviet states like Czech Republic, people remain of the awards they had and there the communist party is now again at 13%. Never give up hope.
PoWaaPoNy You cannot build a successful economic model if you insist on executing independent thinkers and imprisoning creative minds. The enormous totalitarian apparatus is a monolith that will crush the rest of the economy. The military industrial complex prospers at the expense of the rest of the economy. A repressive environment breeds a resentful population that is only too willing to get their own back at a government they despise. Original thinking is discouraged and the economy stagnates. That is part of the reason why Communism failed.
Trollsif Stalin It is just we need not the totalitarian model of communism. Don't forget, it was never built in Russia successfully, so even though we had totalitarian regime it doesn't mean that communism has to be this way. I think if first we build successful socialism then we can give a try to communism once again. And the idea of "perfect" communism is no way that creative minds are imprisoned. But I do not see how it can work if the government is not interested in that, they live too well under capitalism. And for that goal we will need people devoted to the idea. Communist party is not really a strong competitor, they are just puppets of the ruling party. I don't know, I still think that even though communism might be too idealistic it is still good thing to try to build. Or just good socialism would already be good for Russia.
2019 CE and still a worthy tribute piece of the Soviet military. I was born in 1989 CE AD I grew up in the 1990s and the 2000s which was the times after the Soviet Union had collapsed in 1991 CE indirectly taking with the United States (which the US had "won" the cold war but in reality nobody did and everybody went on with life). The post-cold war 1990s and 2000s were the economic restructuring hard times for everybody especially to those in Southeast Asia. Despite media portrayal during the 90s our world back then was full of bad things in the bad reality. Socially and ideologically. Racially outside of the United States. The good things were the end of potential global nuclear war, more economic opportunities (despite bad long-term decisions), and new technology, sciences, discoveries, among everything else. New technology had improved chances of getting jobs and getting paid better. New technology had brought the gaming and computer and film industries to ... I am sorry for my ramblings. I cannot judge but I could comment that the US and the USSR were military strongmen that not kept the life's bad realities in media blackouts but, at least in my view, kept the peace and gradually actually proactively tried to ensure the areas were stable enough. Despite the earned negative reputations of both powerhouses. Nobody is perfect. We should not forget the past either.
Actually the peak was in the mid 70s probably...before the economic stagnation set in (indeed Soviet economy was growing quicker than west until about 1973 but started from a far lower base), before Afghan war, and finally the collapse, USA was also humiliated at the time after Vietnam and would soon take an economic hit (although end up recovering within a few years), also USSR at that time probably had more allies around the world than before or after. Though Putin may not recover actual territory, if he wins in Ukraine some of Russia's power/influence will be restored above and beyond pre-invasion, especially once the countries applying sanctions get pressure to lift sanctions to help their own economies.
I was Born in Russia 1998! Truly the 90s were a nightmare for Russian Children, many would become orphans because of the collapse in 1991, I an one of them, I never got to see my Russian mother, Yet I beg to see her some day! RIP CCCP If you had not collapsed Many kids wouldve been saved
As french citizen, i'd rather to be Soviet citizen. The beauty, powerfull, braveness of the peoples of the soviet republics.. we hadn't see that since Roman Empire. Slava Soyuz !
