+adblau1 The singer was Richie Havens (whose claim to fame was opening Woodstock; and by this point had become what I've often called the "Voice of 1980s Commercial Jingles").
@@hrtvfan2870 That's actually Larry Santos. Richie Havens sang at Woodstock, but Larry Santos is the voice you heard singing commercials in the '80's. He was also on the children's show Hot Fudge and had a minor hit in the '70's called We Can't Hide It Anymore.
Not sure if true, but as legend goes, Lew Erlicht had Elizabeth Ward fired for being unattractive. (Admittedly, it was pretty silly casting given what the rest of the family looked like.) Ironically, Tracey Gold was fired off the pilot for "Gimme a Break!" And Lauri Hendler -- who was REALLY unattractive -- wasn't. Heck, I think Lauri was the only actor who wasn't fired off "A New Kind of Family" when it went to series -- which was also ironic given that ABC hated her character so much, they dumped most of the episodes centered around her in the trash.
