Classic Chevrolet style and contemporary LS V-8 performance transport this 1986 C10 Fleetside custom pickup from the ‘80s into the future. Restored and modified from the frame up, the pickup packs performance only dreamed of back in the mid-1980s. The project started when the frame was sandblasted, powder coated and equipped with a RideTech Air Ride suspension and in-cabin controller. The C10 cab and cargo box were finished in a DuPont Red topped with factory-issue drip rail, window trim and chrome-plated front bumper. The original small-block was shelved, and the C10 underwent 5.3L V-8 transplant surgery for two-fold performance improvement. A blackout cowl-induction-style hood, Spectre filtration and Fast VSX intake manifold supply plenty of air, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge keeps the gasoline flowing, and tube headers with dual exhaust flow power and sound. The V-8 channels its horsepower through an automatic transmission, and the pickup puts on the brakes through a Wilwood power-assist master cylinder with red-finish four-piston calipers on slotted and drilled rotors. Custom aluminum engine covers and an aluminum radiator help the pickup keep its cool. Interior appointments take the factory Custom trim to the next level. The cabin is outfitted with handcrafted red stitched leather upholstery from the padded dash to sport bucket seats and center console. Dakota Digital OEM-style gauges and tilt steering work together for personalized control. Air conditioning, a satellite-capable sound system, power windows, backup camera and a remote start with alarm make up the technology and convenience package. The modern take on a classic Chevrolet pickup rolls on brushed-finish aluminum-alloy Rally Intro wheels with matching staggered width and diameter Nitto tires.
