I have a Sammy Sosa 90 Donruss that has the missing dot after INC which I know the scammers want 16K or higher for. It also has Sammys birthday wrong. I see these from 1.00 to 20K or higher.
Thanks for the comment. This is a frequent question. First, the DOB. This was an uncorrected error adding no extra value. The missing dot is so common it also doesn't add value despite being a confirmed variation. It is a $1 card despite what those ebay sellers are asking.
Hey, just purchased the Barry Bonds rookie, and it says it has about 6 errors on it. The Green Dot beside his shin, the ink smudge next to his first name, the 3 and 0 cut off, and a couple other errors. Do you have any advice on how much it sells for and if it is a rare card? Thanks.
Thanks for commenting! Saying a junk wax cards like this having "multiple errors" is a common practice for ebay sellers. It is dishonest. First off, as I show in this video, the 3 and the 0 are cut off on ALL his cards. And the smudges, dots etc... are print flaws and take away from the value. I can pull out just about any junk wax card and find flaws. Be cautious about what people call "error" cards on ebay. Your card is worth about $3-$5 depending on condition.
Nah. Printing flaws ( double printing, dust specs, off center, wrongbacks, print lines etc) are really common with these years due to over-production. There are ridiculous ebay listings for these "errors" but they are NOT uncommon or valuable.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles yeah and I wrote that crazy seller to tell them that there’s no way that card was worth that much and they replied saying I’ll help you if you have questions but don’t waste my time telling me what my cards are worth lol. I offered him $25
Able to help with a misprint card? I was sifting through an old binder from collecting as a kid and found a 1987 Dwight Gooden tops glossy all star card with an obvious misprint. The borders are off by quite a bit and Dwight’s face is somewhat blurred. I can’t find anything about it on the web. Thoughts?
Interesting. The offcentering is unfortunate, as it was pretty commonplace with that era. I have never heard of any blurring in that set. I looked at this card on ebay. The whole pics isn't that great, and is a little out of focus. If you got a minute, email a photo of it. My email is Zagarfarts@yahoo.com.
Great vid! What is all the hype on the 1987 Topps Pete Rose Manager error card? $5k-$20k on eBay is this real or a scam? I think the card number is 393. Thanks.
You do know there are cards that are errors not because of the 3 being missing but errors in Bonds name and also overlapped borders and much more. Like where it says Pirates on the back the r is like and upside down “i” and misplaced . Next to SO. BA. An such . The 3 being cut is common but not the offset . Or like one has a clear . Right in the B in Barry so yea definitely are some errors you missed .
This card stirs up a lot of feelings because some debate whether there are errors on it. Beckett, PSA and (I think) Tcdb don't recognize any variations/errors with this card. As a fan of Bonds, I'm interested in the errors (or VARs) you mentioned and I will check them out. Thanks!
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles on the back in the stats the 73 and 74 lines are real close together almost overlapping. I think it was corrected but I haven't found a corrected version and I have a few of them.
Thanks for this video! I just picked up the Bonds card at a card event over the weekend for $15, and was amazed to see all of the ebay controversy around this card. I did notice some other things noted for misprints, such as the card having an off-center boarder, shifted yellow fills in pirate logo, etc. My card does have a few of these (in addition to the 3 and 0 crop), and wasn't sure where to look next as far as research. Would love to hear your thoughts on if you happen to see this!
There IS quite a bit of controversy around this card and other cards in this era. Unfortunately the controversy is really just a hype. People are seeing inflated prices on Ebay and they are trying to capitalize on it. This card and others in this time era (approx '86-'93) were so mass produced that they really don't bring in much value. In addition quality control was awful. Misaligned printing, offecentering, blank backs, print specks, fading color, damaged... etc was prevalent in these cards. The hype you are seeing on Ebay is just that. I love this card, but the things you are describing hurt the value, not help. Don't take my word for it, look at the "sold" listing on Ebay, not the asking price. I can ask $1 million for a miscut card, it doesn't mean it's worth that. Sorry for the long reply. I get these type of questions frequently. Hope this helps.
@A Mcwt very very cool! There's a couple listed on ebay in the hundreds. But they aren't going to sell for that. There's one sold for $9. $9 seems a bit low.
Hi Brian. I never posted a video JUST about the "blackless" cards, but I did go over both of those years in their respective videos. When you get a chance check out my 1990 Topps video at about the 8 minute mark and the 1982 video at about the 7 minute mark. Thanks for the comment.
Hey, is your intro music from the song by Ween? "Exactly where I'm at" ? Sorry its not a card related question but I heard that music and was like is..that..Ween?!! That would be awesome. Or you may have no idea what I am talking about and think I am insane Lol either way i gotta know!!
Nothing that interesting I'm afraid. Its a song called "Smells Like Grunge". It's a royalty free song I downloaded from www.audionautix.com. That way I won't get flagged for using copyrighted material. Are you dissapointed?
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles hah probably a good idea these days. People copyright claim videos with like 5 secs secs of a song in it..by accident. Check out that song sometime ,it's pretty close
ok i understand but what if u had the only 1987 topps barry bonds rookie card has alot more error or discrepancys from the number 320, black in check smears, a dozen neon bright color orbs spheres on barry bonds whole attire down the shoes, backgrounds , etc just alot of going on more than what you and everyone has only witness and experience for the barry bonds error my question is if you had a 1987 barrybonds rc that has a dozens MANY errors knowing that for 25+ you have research online and till this day no has the same card the same errors as you would that card be valuable ? please let me know
I'm happy to take a look if you would like to email me a photo. My email is zagarfarts@yahoo.com When you have a card with print flaws it makes every one of these cards a one of a kind. But prints flaws take away from the value, they don't help it. Being a "on of a kind" is why you won't see info on it online. There is a market for these types of cards, but normally buyers aren't paying extra for spots and streaks. If you feel you may something valuable you can throw it on eBay and see what it does. But sometimes it's just a good idea to keep it in your collection.
Hi, i was just searching through videos about errors on cards, and i found a 1988 miscut card of Brian Dayett and was curious if you could possible help me get information on it.
Hey that's pretty cool! You have a wrongback. Pretty common for this set. As the cards were so over produced, lots of mistakes happened. Normally these go for a buck or two. But since you have Bonds on the front, I'm sure you could get 5-10 for it. Not great money but I'd hang on to it if I were you. Thnx for commenting.
I believe the 87 Topps Bonds error is the one with an ink smear next to his name (on the front of the card). I've seen quite a few with that, but the majority don't have that smear of ink. 🤷♂️
Good callout! I wasn't aware of it. I read your comment and found several of those "ink smear" error. 4 out of about 20 of my Bond Rc's had it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hi, hopefully you won't roll your eyes haha but do have that 1987 Barry Bonds card.. it does have the cut off 3 and 0 or whatever but also the Topps logo on the back bottom right corner.. the first P in Topps has a strange circle under it. It almost makes it look like an R and the bottom banner is also not straight beneath that P because of that issue with the ink. I did take it out of the plastic case it is in to make sure it wasn't like a hole or something punched shallow into the card and it is smooth, it's definitely the ink. Hopefully I made since of what it looks like lol. But I was wondering if you have seen that before? Thanks!
Hey man. I love to hear about card anomalies. And it certainly sounds like you have an anomaly. No I haven't heard of it. Not sure about a value, as printing anomalies don't really fetch a premium. You can search eBay for sold listings to see if there's others out there, but I have a feeling you won't find anything like yours.
Thanks for the response.. so do you think that decreases the value? I don't really know how to find anything out about this stuff. I have a huge collection but they were all my uncles.
@@mattmoney5244 flaws don't usually help or take away getting the value of the card condition is good. However collecting "purists" won't usually want it. You might be able to find sold listings on ebay to give you some idea. That's where I'd start. Just don't expect much.
Hi buddy. These cards were soooo mass produced, they aren't really worth anything. Fun to collect, but not easy to make money on. Check Ebay sold listings for specific values. Thnx.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles ok thanks. Never really paid attention to the backs of the 80s cards. So I'm not use to seeing years left off or having a year on there twice or even three times
Sounds cool! At a time when cards were overproduced we see tons of quality control issues. This would just be a misprint. But certainly one worth hanging on to. It's hard to attach a value. There may be a demand for it considering who it is.
I have a topps 1987 jim winn thats cut off the top and has part of the next card that was due for print on the bottom of the card and i opend the pack from box that i my self unboxed
hi trust all is well. thanks for the video. i used to be a big fan of baseball and collecting cards. i lost my entire collection to flood damage except for a complete unopened 51 card Topps baseball sports picture still flat loose and sealed in its original packaging and never exposed to sunlight from 1982-83. Can you give me any advise on potential value and how to go about liquidating. I can send you a picture if you respond with an email. kind regards
Hi buddy. Not too sure exactly what you might have. And I'm not super good ay appraising value. What you should do it search Ebay under sold listings and see what they've sold for before. I'm sure that'll help. Good luck!
I only show confirmed errors and variations. If the error isn't mass produced, then I won't show it. I don't waste my viewers time with specks, spots, miscuts... etc. And hey, I like PSA, but grading companies are not the authority in the hobby for errors and variations. Thanks for the comment.
Topps had a real hard time with mixing up the backs. What you have is a wrongback and, unfortunately. Was very common for 87 as well as 88. Cool card though! I'd hang on to it.
I've never seen a Bonds black back yet. However, I'm not terribly surprised. Topps put a lot of blank backs in the late 80's. I bet you could make some money off that one!
Hey hungryman, love your error videos. As I’m watching this I’m going through a box of 87 topps looking for errors. I found 2 Jeff Hearrons so far if you want one. And as I’m looking at Dave LaPoints card I noticed it says he is from Glen Falls, well I am from his hometown and it is Glens Falls. Do you know if this was a corrected error? Let me know. Thanks.
Topps Nestle dream team Johnny Bench Babe Ruth on back wrong back only one found in the world on radio show value this with Brian and leon PSA VERIFIED factor misprint. They could not put a price on the the card but they said it probably is the 1980s rarest baseball card!!!!! New find 2019!!!
Hi, I have 1987 Topps Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire rookie cards, the back of the cards have names and stats of other players that does not match the front of the cards. The fronts of each individual cards are Barry and Mark. Please advise what type of error cards these are and if they have any value. The cards are in mint condition, razor sharp corners and with good front and back centering. They must have had the sheets misprinted, etc.. and those two rookie cards must have been from the same sheet. Let me know if they are common or if I have unique Barry and Mark rookie cards.
Those are called wrongbacks. Very common in Topps in the late 80's. With that said those two are a couple of dandys! There isn't any book value associated with them but in reality they are valuable. I sugggest looking for oddities like these in the sold listings on Ebay. I couldn't find any for the McGwire. But holy cow, the Bonds had one that sold for $100 and another for $235! It'd be nice if there was more examples of sold listings but the one listed look promising for you. Thanks.
Why waste our time with uncorrected errors? You only listec 6 uncorrected errors or variations..You could of save us all a lot of time and just mentioned those. But instead you made a very annoying video babbling on about uncorrected stuff !!
Legit feedback. And I appreciate it. I like the UER cards because some of them are cool to point out. Granted, many of them are quite boring. Nevertheless, thanx for the comment.
