Part 2 to 1990 Donruss errors. Find out what you never wanted to know about the Red Abomination know as 1990 Donruss. Re-uploaded for audio issues. I believe I finally have it fixed.
Dude...I found your channel and its been loads of fun to watch. I've also found alot of these errors in my collection. Keep it up dude!!! Great video!!! 👊
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles I have a question. I got this 1990 Donruss Ken Griffey Jr. Card and it doesn't have a period after Inc. Is the card worth anything cause it doesn't have that period at the end?
@@apexliongaming9502 hi buddy! I've heard this called the Alex Madrid error. Unfortunately no extra value. Donruss made this variation on nearly every single card in the late 80s and early 90s. It's a cool find but that's about it. You'll find many on ebay if you want to compare value. Thnx for the comment!
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles I think is baseball card fans collecting wise I think that it is important to show different variations and stuff . However it's also important to tell the younger generation the ones that should starting out collecting to watch out for various prices of cards that has errors because if that's the case then everybody that's got 1990 Donruss and all these other little variations and stuff like that would be multi-millionaires by now
Hey Hungryman, nice videos! I did the majority of my collecting in 1990 as a child and quit as soon as MTG came out. Barry Larkin was my favorite back then, and every now and then I hit up eBay and buy huge lots of Larkins, just so they can collect dust with the rest. One of those times just happened today, and that is what led me to your video. Right now I am looking at an auction for a '90 Donruss Larkin double error, $99. The first error is the INC no dot, but the second claims a "purple background" and I can't find any information on such errors, nor does anything from their pictures look purple. Another current auction for the same card lists a "pepper" error, and I also am not sure what that means, but would assume it was a reference to the design on the front sides. I was hoping you had some insight on this
Thanks for the comment! 1990 was a huge year for collecting for me too. I'll tell you what I know, and you can decide from there. Sellers are constantly claiming some new error in order to try and make a quick buck (junk wax era cards especially). When these cards were mass produced, there were countless specks, dots, and lines on these cards. That said, I haven't heard of a "pepper" variation. The missing dot thing is nonsense. I made a video about that. Be cautious. Sellers want you to believe they have something rare.
Oh I know exactly what it is. My expertise in the Marine Corps was Ammunition and Explosives for 20 years. It's just too funny that it was the first thing I noticed in your video.
Dug up a huge box of old baseball cards and I have a 1990 Donruss card that has someone else's stats on the back. The back is completely wrong. I've tried to look it up and I can't find it listed anywhere, I even looked at the list of errors on the "The Trading Card Database" and it wasn't there. What do you think, pretty rare?
@ petesi yes it is a rare card but however it's cool to have but if you plan on selling it chances are that you can ask whatever you want for it however I don't know anybody in their right mind they would pay thousands of dollars for it
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles Good luck! Nearly impossible to find any info. Found 1 video on youtube and only a couple listings on Ebay. But they are out there! 😉
I've gotten several of these questions. Affectionately called the "Alex Madrid" error, it is a very common error that involved most, if not every, card in the set. Present in 90 as well as 89 Donruss. Beware of Ebay listings trying to convince buyers it is valuable.
I see the back error with the border, but I keep seeing name line error? What’s this error or can you help me out with the Paul Giamatti errors? Thanks
I'm going to assume you mean Bart, and not Paul the actor. There is some "sort of" errors with this card where the black lines on the front cover part of his name. Similiar to the Harold Baines Allstar error where the black line completely overlaps the star. There are other examples of overlapping lines with varying degree of overlap. They are cool but don't really bring in extra value.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles haha oh man my fault I did mean Bart. That makes sense I just saw one saying name line error and it looked like the one I have. I think it’s normal though. Thanks for replying.
I think that beckett underprice hall of famers cards, especially errors on hall of famers card like missing the number on nolan card. As far as the junkwax era I don't go along with it, because when you go to a card convention older cards from sixties and seventy of hall of fame great are pleantyfull if you have the money. It not hard to find any mantle cards from any year, so there no more rarer and harder to find than the cards from 88to 94
Very cool! Not sure but I think it's a dealer sample. There's not a lot of data to go on but we can compare to ebay sold listings for reference. A common sold for $50. Your card is certainly not a common, so it could probably fetch twice that or more I'd bet. Hope this helps.
Cool! Yeah, I think most of his cards had the wrong bday. A lot of these players coming from other countries either had poor documentation or they lied about their age.
So why do cards some people have 200$300$ abs seems like lot of them from 200$-500$ then some at 8bucks or like 5$-12$ bucks . Like the Ken Griffith double diamond..example . But if can explain please ???
Hi James. Are you getting your prices from eBay? Sellers get very optimistic with their pricing hoping someone gullible will come along and buy. I'm not sure exactly what cards will rang in price that much. Ungraded and poor condition cards are going to be the cheaper one for sure. Don't judge a card's value by the active listing price. I suggest looking sold listings. As far as the JuanGon, the reverse negatives were pretty valuable when first discovered (maybe $20) but then collectors realized there were a ton of them. I never was able to pull one from a pack but I picked up a ton on eBay for about a buck apiece. I hope that helps.
Hey bro, first let me tell I like your videos. But I have the complete set of the 1990 donruss I kept them safe for 29 years so it was a big let down knowing that there not worth any thing really but when I get on eBay the nolan ryan 5000k is worth like 3000 grand is ebay just out of there damn minds or do I have anything worth real value
I wish I could tell you something exciting, but no, nothing worth more an a couple bucks. Be careful with ebay pricing. Anyone can list a card for $3k. Look at the sold listings for a more accurate picture. Like you, I spent wayyyy too much money on these cards hoping for a better return.
a Nolan 5000K sold on eBay for $22.55 with a PSA 10 on 9/3/2020. Check psacard.com for "somewhat' up to date values on cards. psacard.com is the Morningstar of card collecting.
You're right. My lighting has come a long way since this video. Check out one of my new videos and you will see the lighting and quality has improved greatly. Thanks.
Anyone selling these as errors for thousands is a con artist . It’s cheap junk wax and has no value I’m old enough to know better. To act like these are errors is a disgrace
I'm sure you aren't saying they AREN'T actually errors... however there's always crooks out there. Hopefully buyers will use some educated discernment.
