Wow, a race where the GTR won and the comments section isn't full of bogans whining about it. How nice.

The top speeds that Ch.9 were showing late in the race were a bit misleading. Early in the race they were doing around 240 down the straight while later they were showing a best of 230 with the Nissan only at 217 km/h. However, at this stage the GT-R's still hadn't got their brakes sorted properly and it was obvious from the racecam shots that Richards was breaking well before the normal breaking markers for the Group A cars which also happened to be where the speed trap was (its position was to give the F1 cars a better top speed time). If the trap was another 50 metres down the road the GT-R would have been around 235-240. At Bathurst just a couple of months earlier the GT-R and the fastest Sierra's were all hitting around 290, so the Nissan wasn't as 'slow' in a straight line as it appeared in Adelaide.

I still can't understand why they didn't put a turbo on the commodore it would have blown the doors off all the field

I still can't understand why they didn't put a Carbon Fibre chassis on the commodore and shave 350 kilo off the kerbweight. Yeah, right.

They would have had to make 5000 turbo V8 commodores it would have been classified as 6.8 litres, minimum weight 1500kg on 12" wide tire. Other than being quicker in a straight line it would have been rubbish.

@@jazalessandro3094 small T03 turbo no intercooler and at 3 litres + turbo it would have to run heavier than the V8 and had less power = not competative.

Alan Moffat's female friend/wife..? asked me to leave the Gold Stand enclosure during a rainy period, one year in Adelaide, even though i had a ticket. Luckily, for him..i didn't stab him and his C*** friend in the neck. He's alive today, because of my good character and temper control. You're Welcome.

If you actually seen any interviews of drivers driving that thing you'll know it's actually quite difficult to drive and set up but go on
