Just doing a little bit of maintenance on the montero. It was still on the factory cv shafts. Remember to like and subscribe for more videos! "Cinnamon" Instrumental by Homage • [Free] Isaiah Rashad x...
Great vid, good tips to show what’s involved changing the front driveshafts. Great trucks, I’ve been off roading mine for 5 years and still runs like clockwork plus out performs most other off roaders with a few mods. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks! Hopefully this gives someone a good idea on what to expect when tackling this job. I have had mine for 4 years or so and i dont reat it nicely haha! Its been great! Thanks for watching.
I've got one and other than the harmonic balancer going tits up, its been running like a champ for like what, like 28 years now? can't say enough about how they built em back in 1995.:) That air locker in the rear, still surprises the hell out of hardcore 4 wheelers trying their best to follow my bumper :) Not too bad for 'soccer mom parking lot car' as my jeep friends used to rib me, before I had to come rescue them from yet another off road breakdown LOL. BTW, I run 31.5's and drive 'carefull' in the boonies. Original AC still frosty too :)
I’m the guy from Instagram, @95MonteroSr. I’ve needed to find out why I have significant play in my steering and I’m sure it’s the tie rots and this video gave me confidence to do it soon.
If you jack both front tires up you can grab the sides of a tire and jerk it left and right (like youre turning). You'll be able to determine where the play is coming from. Good luck! Thanks for watching man!
Just a quick tip on tie rods & ball joints. Undo the nut about 1/2 way and whack the fitment point hard with a hammer and it'll just pop out. BTW if you turn the steering you get better access to the suspension components. Otherwise good information 👍
I just changed the inner tie rod on my '01 Montero. It wasn't so bad if you have the tie rod tool (I ended up getting a loaner from Eurozone). The inner tie rod didn't come with a boot, and I had to buy a stupid expensive boot kit from eBay, and it came with two zip ties instead or ear clamps. I know getting the knuckle, bearing and rotor on the lower ball joint is a PIA. Just wondering is it possible to replace the CV axle without taking the assembly off the lower control arm?
Awsome videos bro💪💪....any chance i could try to contact you directly i have some questions to ask you about the montero swap 😉 thankz...keep posting more videos 📹
@@stellarv5689 Rock auto is good because they sometimes carry oem parts. Partouq also carries oem parts. I typically use both when ordering parts for say a timing belt job. However. For parts that are easy to access, I don't see a huge advantage in using oem. Especially when they're $200 more than the other parts
