I just got a '98 with 285k mi. for $2100, salvaged. But well taken care of and probably garaged. For $2k and the condition, I don't care what haters say. Even driving it for a few years is a win.

1997 E320 this is a 1997 Mercedes E320 there are two versions the e300 Diesel and the E320 I mean the oval shaped lights and this is the w210 chassis it is a black exterior with gray leather interior let's see what she's got under the hood and under the hood is the m104 3.2 l inline 6 cylinder the 3.2 l inline 6 cylinder in 1998 it was being replaced by a V6 in the end in 1998 it is a one owner car you do have six cylinder power

Father of my best primary school friend had a fully loaded one and we went to the swimming pool one day. He worked for a big german steel company. I still remember this ride in the leather back seat. So different to what all other parents drove in Germany in the 90s.

The 1997 E320 was the old double head cam straight 6. The V6 came out in 1998.

My uncle (a Bishop who literally did just drive it to church) had this same spec & it was also a garage queen. As he lost interest in it, I had hopes of trying to persuade him to sell it to me but he wasn't ready yet. I ended up with a c207 chassis, and he ended up selling it to someone who of course wrecked it shortly after. Not sure what peoples obsessions in the South Jersey/Philly area are with wrecking the last of the great German cars that are already well on to extinction. It had absolutely zero rust. Wish MB and BMW would take a look back and remember what they used to do, and how good it really was.

Nice one! Really in a very good shape. I prefer the v6 from 1999/2000. They have 18 valves and 12 ignition plugs and run sooo smooth. While standing still I often wonder if its still running•••

I remember being a kid and seeing plenty of these, brand new, back in 2001 and 2002. '96-'02, very solid old Benz cars. They don't make them like they used to! Cheap luxury that's depreciated so much, your wallet will thank you for not buying brand new! Hahaha!

It's an awesome car! My dads was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy according to the insurance company.. water damage, but I feel its probably still out there auctioned off by the DMV (I read that's what usually happens, a lot of the times they aren't just thrown to a scrap yard). I'm trying to find it haha. Who knows!

I currently have two of those I bought one as a parts car and find it really difficult to tear it apart since it runs and drives with no problems. One has the grey interior and the other black both cars are grey exterior so they look like twins side by side

I got a 1995 E320 fully loaded only has 115,454 miles and the window sticker it came with they paid $43,300 in 1995 for it and I'm selling mines what can i get for it it's in great shape

The probably least liked middle class Mercedes ever built. Even here in Germany, where they are not really that luxurious, you will not see many W210 and S210 anymore. Probably because they rusted away, while the predecessor W124 just keeps on running. Did not help, that these things were considered to be terribly ugly when they came out. Mechanically they certainly are good and if you sit inside, it probably feels quite stately. But no thanks. I would go to every upper middle class Merc from th 50s till today except for this one.

really unfortunate that they were that bad in certain climates. my grandfather just gave me his 1996 E280 with 247 000km and it's in perfect condition with no rust at all. Here in South Africa we have a pretty dry climate so rust is no issue at all.

Nah the w211 series 1 would have to be the worst, with build quality issues and worst of all SBC which isn't covered every else than you lucky guys in the USA, one of the least of all being here in Australia lol. And to me it sounds like a terrible system which takes away the driver's fine control of the brakes.

@@lolakola9084 I've read later year w124s had a downfall in quality as well. I'm looking at a w210 one day, as their engines are much more efficient, and compared to my w202, the quality is probably slightly better if anything! 😅

If you dont count the latest ones. The older ones are of course nicer though. Its oonly the front that is the problem though. Got a bit better with the facelift.
