Hard to believe this was the last time Jeff Gordon won at New Hampshire. You would think he would’ve ended up with at least twice as many more wins, it just never came to fruition 🤷🏻♂️ Top5 finishes in 1999 Top6 finishes in 2000 Came close in 2001 with a 2nd in July & leading the most laps in the fall race 2002 was harsh 2003 he led the most laps in July but had terrible track position towards the end. September was another story. Top10 in both races in 2004 (Almost won the July race with a 2nd) 2005 was mediocre 2006 was a so-so. 15th in July & a 3rd in the fall race. 2007 was VERY close! Both 2nd place finishes! 2008 was mediocre 2009 he came close in the July race with a 2nd & a Meh performance in the fall race Top6 finishes in 2010 Came close to winning both Loudon races in 2011 Top6 finishes in 2012 (Won the pole for the fall race & finished 3rd) Average in 2013 Came close to winning the summer 2014 race & wrecked late in the fall race Top10 finishes in 2015
When you mean by everyone you mean Jack Roush then yes. Jack got an anonymous tip saying that Hendrick was soaking the tires for the 24 and that two tire call late didn't help Roush's suspicions. Jeff just had it going on in 1998.
Anyone remember the first race Gordon won after they all started doing burnouts when they won? He couldn't do a burnout. He claimed he didn't know how, never did one before. You know what? They were running traction control, just like they did in this race. I'm not a hater folks, just telling the obvious. A racer who doesn't know how to spin the tires? C'mon man. They do it every time they leave the pits, but Gordon didn't. That's also why they started out slow, he had problems heating up the tires.
Coming from a huge Bobby Labonte fan, I really wish Bill had won Homestead '03. It would have had more of a send-off feel and at the time no one thought that would be Labonte's last win either.
Everything they did was within the rules. Gray area maybe, but within the set of rules established. They re-wrote the rule book because NASCAR always made a rule against whatever they did very soon after. I
I remember jack rousch accused the 24 of cheating with their tires. Jack was just full of sour grapes cause that guy driving that 24 car was a special driver
