Those first gen tanks rust like there is no tomorrow and clog the assembly. Even worse when people don't do winterizing before storing them. The best advice I can give anyone who is going to store there bike for the winter or any long periods is to fill the tank all the way to the top so there is very little exposed metal in the tank. Additionally putting in inline filter between the tank and the pump assembly will help with future issues. Good video!

What is the fuel pump you used? I changed mine twice and still having hard time to start the machine. Do you think the pressure is not enough in the new pump?
i have gone from a gen1 to a gen2 fuel pump, what do you do with the return fuel line that the gen2 doesn't cater for, i have plugged it but it still runs very rich...cheers
We want a way on the same tank, and it is the first generation, so that you dig the tank from the bottom and put the fuel compressor inside. Can you do this thing? Thank you
The small sleeve that comes of at 5:30 needs to go back on the correct way - it is NOT the same at each end. And at 6:00 it is easier to prise out the rubber before pulling the pump out.
The pump you're talking about WILL NOT fit the 1999/2000 housing. All those Ebay pumps like "Kemso" and other similar ones are for post 2000 models and sometimes sellers claim that they fit early models but THEY DON'T and i personally experienced that buying one of those ebay pumps ending up returning it with apologies from the seller who was wrong. The only pump from Ebay that will fit 1999/2000 housing can be purchased on US Ebay from Hamilton Motorsports and with postage to Europe plus taxes it isn't cheap. So no you cannot buy this pump in Europe on Ebay for 1999/2000 model separately.
Hugo Aguilar Vertiz if you mean that after 10 minutes of running on the side stand it stalls then it's gonna be the typicsl case of rusty tank. Rust from the tank clogs the fuel system and kills the fuel pump. Most probably that's the reason if we're talking about early gen 1 models.
adikxx83 thats exactly what it does, thanks for your help. They are seling the Hayabusa in 1500 dollars, is it a good price for it with that problem,? the rest of the bike is ok
Hugo Aguilar Vertiz in the worst case scenario this could end up with shot fuel pump , fuel injectors and replacing the tank. I personally would walk away from it but that's just me.
