xChaseMaccini What can you use to avoid crack paint please ? Use before "bulldog adhesive" for ? What is the right solution to avoid crack paint please ? I restor air max 90. You also say in another video of you, that "flat white" is worse than "white" classic. Flat white that could pose a problem of crack paint you said. Why do you use it here for J3s ? Thank's 4 your answer..
tony287 hey homie - long story short. Midsole paint will always crack - there's not much you can do to prevent it other than using regular angelus paint with no duller. Duller makes the paint more brittle while the regular colors has more of rubber aspect to it
xChaseMaccini Thank's 4 your answer.. Do you advice me not to use angelus flat white but rather classic white paint if i understood correctly ? To make a matte finish you use what ? Do you mix for midsole the angelus paint with 2 thin or scratch resistant to avoid crack paint ? Or you apply the angelus without mixing ?
Yoooo chase 😂 feels like it's been so long since I watched your vids I stopped repairing shoes but just seen this in my subscriptions 🔥✋🏽 Making me miss it 😂😭
Great And Wonderful Job Bro, I have a Question, when using my heat gun,do I put it on the cooler setting when drying thin layers of paint but I should use witch setting on the cement glue...!!! Peace and Thanks for this tutorial
My pair crumbled in 2009, it was a sad day to say the least..but 2 days ago I found a guy selling a decent restored pair, that looked similar to these you just did...even the small gaps in the front midsole...but they are wearable.. that's why I had to buy them...brought me back to 1999 again my High School days...size 13.. I paid $90 for them...
Next 1999 swap please don't forget that the white cements are ALSO synthetic/durabuck so don't forget to strip that layer underneath, it will lead to a a cleaner finished product and a more durable product.
XxthemightygodxX no he is right. there is definitely an extra layer to strip which is why you have to be super careful when getting closer to the actual upper of the shoe. But don't fret, the exposure on the camera might not have grabbed it good but it was definitely stripped back fully :)
Nice restoration. At first, that color match looked odd, but now after really seeing it on the shoe it isn't that bad. Very close I'd say. Might even be a near perfect match to the 2016 pair. But I dig it.
Zae Sepulveda thanks homie! Funny cause I got a damn near perfect 99 WC4 color match in a video a months back and everyone said it was wrong 😂 I used a color in this video that everyone swore by
hey chase, PLEASE is there no better paint for midsoles that are rubber than angelus which are meant for acrylic leather?? I dont have that much cash, my reason for both curiousity and need restoration so at least save some money than new pairs. How well they adhere on rubber midsoles or toecaps, how long, MOST IMPORTANTLY how firm they stick regarding peelings, chippings and crackings as shoes gonna need brushing for cleaning several times??? PLEASE Chase....S.O.S
Valpuia Khiangte the only other paint out there that I know of is Jaquard. They don't have any pre made paint mixes but I do hear they are good regardless
tasha brooks thanks so much for informing me. My very problems, wish your info would solve my problem as my perfect desire i.e.just as factory finished permanent or at least firmly sticks till the shoe is eventually worn out off.
xChaseMaccini thanks so so much for the reply chase. And i wish you do a video of it, about it, you using it and defining details of the stuff which as informative and interesting as you always are.
imo anyone sole swapping 99 bred 4s don't waste your time. the nubuck is so old toe creasing turns to chipping no matter how well you condition your nubuck with cleaners. just wait til they retro next year hopefully
Real Shit when I got the color pretty much perfect in a previous video, everyone said it was wrong too so I'm not too fussed. The person who owns these is happy.
