Hello everyone. Thank you for watching. Today I’m doing a quick video of my 1999 Camaro. This car has been a dream car for me for many years. Not fast by today’s standards, but a fun, chuckable car to play with.
Mine runs nice and fast! Will it beat modern SS Camaros or any comparable car and trim, probably not, but you can modify anything! Supercharge that beast and you’ll feel the power in your balls!
I remember there was a bone stock press car “factory freak” than ran high 12s in 98 degree weather while testing for a magazine shoot with Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine. Evan Smith was the writer. Freaked them out so bad, they actually put it in the article!
I agree. The 4th Gen F bodies are great cars. The LS1 motor is one of the best of the Gen III's. They have a really strong bottom end, good breathing and good compression at 10.2:1. All they need is a more aggressive cam, headers and a tune to really run. I had a 2002 Camaro SS with 6 speed a few years ago. The 6 speed cars are a lot of fun. I currently have a 2002 Formula 4L60E car with only 88,000 Km on it and plan to do a few mods this summer.
That formula would be a fun car! Definitely plan to wake this thing up some day. Have way to many darn projects already, and she runs so damn good to want to rip it apart yet lol
Hey Jamie, nice video! I agree with your prediction 100%!! Also, saw you are storing your T-Top sunshades on the back deck in the trunk. There are 2 small slots that are molded into the plastic T-Top holder in the trunk (right between one of the T-Top slots and the very aft portion of the trunk where the carpet liner is), where you can store the shades, so they don't get damaged! It's a little known design feature and just wanted to let ya know it's there if you want to use it!!! Keep the videos coming!! Awesome!
until the Camaro wasn't....repairs can be mad expensive, ask me know I know.....best to stick with a Mustang of that era unless you got unlimited pockets
I also went with the Volant Cold Air Intake, it has a closed box design that seals against your hood which does a better job than K&N for this application. There is also SLP.
And traction control was definitely around!! My 92 corvette has traction control!! Your doesn't to keep production cost down! That's why you could get a full deck out SS for about $30,000!!
@Jamie and Kids factory launch control wasn't around yet and of course it's a on or off button! That's the way it was back then and still Is for a lot of cars!!! Not sure what your comment is even supposed to mean!!🤣🤣🤣
I’m confused about yours not having a traction control button. Mine does.. they came standard with it I believe.. but it could have been an option. I’d have to research that much. I just turn it off when I’m wanting to drive it hard.
Slow is nothing about these cars 160 Mi an hour stock if you take the speed limiter off even faster if you floor it to the floor... and it can run with some of the hot rods of today I'm a witness to that.. only problem with these cars including the Firebird do not hit the accelerator when it's raining on Red Road that's a dead man slipping on sliding hydroplane insane
