I also have a model of this, year of manufacture 1994 through November and it is the variant with an automatic gearbox with sport mode. I have it for more than 17 years now. A very good car.
I have one of these and you will find the cd changer under the passenger seat. It will have a cover which you slide to the side. You will then see the eject button on the front of the cd changer. Take out the cartridge once ejected and you can insert several cds. Its not easy to see unless you look under the seat.
Fully loaded with goodies..elec heated seats..mirrors..cd changer steering wheel controls.. i have a mk2 2000 2.0 zetec its a workhorse very reliable had it for 8 years... but doesnt have all those extras.. might have to start modding mine lol
This is a top of the range Ghia X. What do you have? LX, GLX etc. Manual, automatic? The heated seats & windows are amazing in winter. I find the black leather soaks up all the heat in summer & the a/c never wins the battle. I have a 2ltr year 2000 Mk2 Ghia X, fuel economy is a pretty decent 33mpg.
I want him to compare this to an American Ford Contour or Mercury Mystique. The European Mondeo is much more fondly regarded than its American counterparts which seems odd as the cars are so similar.
The Contour was sold as a mid size car in the US, but it was the same size as cars considered 'compact' in the US, and the American public were annoyed by the lack of room in comparison to what they usually knew as 'compact'.
Hey so i bought a car like yours Ford mondeo ghia 1996. But can't figure out where to put my cd in. And the last owner lost the manual. Could you tell me how i do it. There isn't anywhere to put in on the radio itself.
Salman Mohammed Dont know where it is in this Mondeo, but first i would check the trunk, then glove box, and finaly ask myself if it is even there ?! .. a way to find out could be to take off the radio and at the back there should be a green connector hole which should be for the changer, if there is nothing in it then most likely theres no changer
