I had one of these cars from 1997 - 2017 and absolutely loved it. Spent a fortune on MOT's but couldn't bear to part with it. No one else was allowed to drive it and my Mondeo was always the oldest car on my school's car park. My pupils knew how much it meant to me, as did my own family. Had to finally and sadly part company with it in 2017. My replacement was a gorgeous Mark 4, two litre Mondeo in chill silver. Beast of a car but still miss my old faithful. original.
The mk1 ford mondeo was a great sturdy and very comfortable and reliable car but alot are gone now and very rare.its a pitty becouse they are scrapped due to stupid scrappage schemes.but i still have 2 mk1s 1.6i 16v saloon black!! one with only 82.000miles and an other with a good bit more but these are scrap survivers anyway.and your one is beautiful mate hope that she is still driving around on the roads outlasting the plastic and tin shite made nowa days☺;))
JohnFord994 Hi John, I have a Mk 1 Mondeo 2 litre dohc 5 door GLX Mondeo, but have a problem with the drivers airbag warning lamp on when the engine is running, suspect its the airbag module, but they are no longer available, but a used module would be OK, then it's possible to have them recalibrated as new! I have all the numbers off the module, 93BG 14B056 AIB CDW27. Do you know where I can find a used drivers airbag control module?
Mein absolutes Lieblingsauto :D Dein MK1 ist in sehr gutem Zustand das muss auch mal erwähnt werden,bei meinen MK1ern waren immer die Hinterenkotflügel durch nach ca.200.000 km :D Jetzt hab ich nen MK2 ist aber auch nice :D
Danke, ich hatte glück... 1 Vorbesitzer und der hat ihn immer in der Garage geparkt so hat er die ersten 15 Jahre gut überlebt ohne Rostprobleme. :) Jetzt hatte ich auch Rost hinten an der Tür habs behandelt hoffe es bleibt alles gut!

I am spending some money on my Mk1, as I believe they will be collectors cars soon - I want to preserve it. The 1998 one sounds good, but has it had cambelt changed and any other major issues done?

+Muhammet Tan that Mondeo in the Video was also my first car. I liked it alot. The Mondeo is bigger then the others. If you dont mind that, take the big car. Has nice comfort
Silver light I agree, Mk 1 & 2 are both nice cars, I think the Mk 3-4 moved into the old Granada territory by growing larger & more luxurious. Whilst I prefer the Mk1 looks the extra legroom & larger headlights are more practical on the Mk2. I own a Mk2 Ghia X & it's a very nice car with all the extra trim.
