how many times Ive thought about when I get to a bolt that won't come out and have to remove three to get to the one. 🤬your patience is admirable. such a hard clutch to do. love watching, total admiration.

All starter motors should be like those Rover starters because you can take the end plate off the solenoid and clean all the pitting off the main feed to the armature when you get that dreaded click when you go to start your car, certainly when you keep operating the ignition key and it eventually catches and engages the starter. On all other starters they are a sealed unit so when they play up it's a throw away job and get new.
Halfway through and I would've simply walked away from this clutch and give the customer a lame excuse like my grandma suddenly passed away or something similar. Faaak! Hey, but it's TEAM KAW and we never say die.
Hi that was worth knowing the lowest I've been in my Freelander is 15 miles left . Don't want to damage engine.Always try to have quarter of a tank left .
Do you take extra parts with you to the job, like flywheel, axle seals, etc.? Or do you make a parts run mid repair? Are there any rear wheel drive vehicles in England?
Some Vauxhall Cavaliers from years ago could have the clutch replaced with the gearbox in situ although I think this was probably just the friction plate!
@@TOMLINBISH Nope, whole clutch. I did it on my father's car. Total wrenching time about 30 minutes. Remove 1 wheel, undo an inspection cover and withdraw primary transmission shaft. Remove cover on lower of bell housing and after sliding on 4 retention clips to hold cover spring pressure. Undo clutch cover bolts and the whole lot slid out like a CD from a player. But that was when designers had held a spanner before, not just graduates who are good with a mouse.
