I install the off road y pipe on the 1998 1LE LS1 Camaro with another supplier error. I also work on the wheel tub widening on the bed of the 1972 C10 as well as show some overall shots of the truck in its current state.

Great work as usual as I try hard to send folks to your channel. I have a mid 60's birthday coming next week and what I am finding many don't work on cars at home much less for themselves. Curt, I hope we are not loosing a generation of people who are willing to learn or do repair. On cured clear coat, I am in your camp as if shrinking is going to happen, it done. Plus, HF seals a finishing DA sander that has a 3/16" orbital action (Finishing Sander) w/ 1/2 (13mm) interface pad all Velcro. Starting with 1,000 grit and progress to 2k, 3 or 4k before machine buffing then polishing. Dam that is looking good. Yes, customer service has gone to hell. On the phone for 1.5hrs, this gal had a thick Japanese accent but shy, wouldn't talk up. I reminded her you are working with retired people who may not hear well so talk louder. She never did and the same with kids pulling parts in warehouses. I joke but you can hire a person but you have to pay them extra to think! Best of luck and I wish I had your shop! Dirty of not! DK. Omaha.

Dean, thanks for watching as always I appreciate the support. I’m afraid you are correct on loosing a generation of skilled workers as I already see it in my area. The guys that are in their early 20’s that are starting in my area have absolutely none of the knowledge I had at the same age. They are lazy, one guy barely sets the jacks on a lift after being at work a half hour, he has to BS with everyone and eat his breakfast at work before even getting a car in the air. I don’t understand how with all the knowledge on the internet how kids don’t know more not less. What’s worse is the lazy ones are treated better not worse than the hard working ones. Soon the ones with the skills will either age out or say screw it and leave. Then I wonder who will be fixing everyone’s cars and trucks. It will be interesting but not my problem, I haven’t let anyone touch my vehicles for over 15 years. And happy birthday, hope you get something good.

@@curtrobinsongarage5452 Thanks Curt. My son bought a Tahoe at a dealer in KC. 3 weeks in, he gets a catalytic converter code which two into one. Under warranty as well. They told him they would take it to a muffler shop up the street, yet no guarantee that same code wouldn't come back on! I give up! You would think many would like to know, but maybe good techs with hustle are spoken for. My buddy who retired, said that he talked to new techs out of going to work at his dealer. They are paid flat rate but only warranty time for customer pay. The management up front was cheating by selling cars out of state and got smacked by GM and put on probation. That was 12 years ago! Sad.. Why did I show up earth and stay until 9PM?

I always had issues with TSP that's why I spend my money with Speed Engineering great fitment cheap and really good quality I have a 98 camaro z28 and I have speed engineering long tube headers and true dual exhaust they fit perfect

I have the same y-pipe and my merge hits the driveshaft. It is adjusted as low as possible too. Im going to have to modify it a little

Even after a few little tweaks mine is within a 1/4” or so in a few areas. Not sure what car they used for making sure these were good to go on a production run but I suppose I have seen stuff fit worse. I’m running poly engine and trans mounts, I feel like with factory rubber it would be a problem and need more modifications to work properly. I would like to try stainless works kit as their stuff has fit well on customer cars, problem with them is that I feel the price is too much for what it is.

@curtrobinsongarage5452 yeah, I wish I would have just went with kooks or SW as well. I did a complete build, engine and trans with all new mounts. I figured it would at least be better than speed engineering, but I was wrong lol.

I haven't been happy with TSP or LG Corvette headers they hang low and ARH and Kooks tucks up nicer. TSP and LG are longer primaries but they have room to go up. It has been a long time since I used TSP but when I did they actually double shipped one item and had to call to get something else I ordered when it didn't show up with the other stuff. It was fixed with no argument but their shipping department has seemed to not be on point. 315s will look good.

Really the only reason I used TSP for headers and exhaust was they were cheaper than most while still being stainless steel. Really have to watch where the dollars go on some things. I totally agree there are many headers on the market that are not only better made but fit better too. Normally I push for ceramic coated headers as well but money is tight lately. I remember just over a year ago these headers were also in the mid 400 dollar range now in the 600 dollar range. If TSP charges any more I would heartily recommend another header that is coated. Time will tell if I use them as a supplier for future LS products depending on how their components in this car hold up to my abuse.

@@curtrobinsongarage5452 I understand I have Speed Engineering LS long tubes waiting to go on my 70 C10 that I picked up from someone who went another direction. Hopefully it isn't because they're terrible fitting Chinese junk. However, I want to keep that one tight on the budget and they were hopefully worth the gamble. I've had good luck with Stainlessworks on C5s.

I have had good luck with TSP as far as parts are concerned but their customer service is absolutely terrible.
