Thanks for the kind words, I like to think that for myself there is always room for improvement and I’m always trying to learn new things and techniques for everything I do. I appreciate the comments and thanks for watching!
Another Great Video. I feel your pain, currently in the process of gapping my 68 step side (Door, Fenders and Hood) by far the most frustrating part of my build so far LOL... Always enjoy your videos. Truck is looking Great (Thumbs Up)
Thanks for the support! Yeah, getting panels aligned correctly always frustrated me too and it can definitely take a lot of time depending on the original build quality of the vehicle. Good luck to you and thanks for watching!
I spent days figuring out door alignment. Its much harder with the fenders on. I have to take the doors on and off to get to the cab side of the hinge. Lots of chips on the primer ensued.
Question, Is your cab mounts bolted down to the proper specs? and If so, what did you torque the front and what did you torque the rear cab mounts to? I see lots of conflicting into on the web. Im sorry if its a silly question. Maybe someone can help.
Honestly, for things like that, I just go with what feels good within the torque range of the size fastener I’m using. The only time I break out my torque wrench is for critical stuff such as engine rebuilds. After 25 years of doing this it’s how I do it, right or wrong.
I bought a complete bolt set from auto metal direct. It comes with almost all hardware for the body minus interior screws. I don’t remember how many pieces but it’s in the hundreds and comes in dozens of marked bags. I think it was around 300 for the kit. They also offer an all stainless set if you have the extra scratch to spend.
Hopefully you’re referring to the whole project. If so, as of right now I’m a little over 360 hours into it. Was planning on being between 500 and 600 total and I think that will still be accurate.
The reveal from fender to door is hard to show on camera while trying to hold a door closed against the new weatherstripping and holding a camera. It’s better to show it again after the latches are installed and with the fenders actually bolted down and shimmed. It was flush in mock up, I’ll get it there again.
