First one collared and tracked. That’s means they’ve been here for awhile. It’s also said there’s none in the North cascades but with as many as there are in BC I got a hard time believing that.
Canadian animals of all types range well into Idaho and north of Spokane, and then come home. The forest fires also seems to get them on the move and disorient them: I'm seeing young cougars in the middle of the day and that's rare. They look confused. This bear is in rough shape. Mom bears and their babies come into town (Invermere/Windermere, BC) in the fall, in great condition, and my theory is they want to stay away from the large males in the final stages of their feeding frenzy before hibernation.
My friend lives in Elk and she said there have been some sightings up there. That’s north of Spokane close to the border or BC. There’s a really beautiful mountain range up there not the Cascades I think it’s actually part of the Rockies.
it's near the Purcells, and we can send you black bears and cougars if you want. we're a little short on beavers, though. greetings from the headwaters of the mighty Columbia, where Canada sends you all that water.
