I've been on Wegovy for 2 weeks now, just took my 3rd injection last night and had my 2nd week weigh-in this morning. I've lost 14.5 lbs. and radically changed my life because of this medication. Yes, I'm morbidly obese with a BMI of 43 and had to get the medication prescribed through a bariatric center that I've been seeing over the past 10 months. I joined a mental health program the same week I started (I suffer from major depression) and the medication has helped curb my food cravings, helped me quit a decade-long marijuana addiction and a 20 year long Diet Coke addiction. I also joined a gym, go 3-4x a week. This is just the first 2-3 weeks I've been on the medication but already I've made the effort to change my life to get the full impact from this medication. I'm only 31 but I want my life back and I needed some help. I lost 60 lbs. in high school but have never been able to do anything like that since. I'm so grateful for this medication.

Girl. I started saxenda in Feb 2022. I’ve lost around 200lbs and have kept it off. I have never felt better. I swim 3-5km daily and run 3-5km daily with my dog. I am an entirely different person. It’s life-changing. I am so pleased for you!

I took my first shot yesterday, and it's crazy how well it works. I woke up today with zero interest in having breakfast. Not even the smallest hunger feelings. If this is how it's going to be, I can easily make better food choices. Eat for nutrition, instead of satisfaction.

The drug reduces your hunger. Typically if you aren’t hungry you eat less. If you stop taking the drug, then your hunger comes back with a vengeance, thus weight gain.

Its the same with ozempic. My step dad was on it for a little while, lost 60lbs easily and pretty quickly. once he got off it, gained 40lbs back. I think the trick is if you don't want to take it long term to use the medicine as a tool to facilitate lifestyle changes and sticking to those changes after you get off. My step dad didn't do that, thus the weight gain came back.

Peer reviewed supposedly means it’s reviewed by other experts in the field, in this case doctors specifically working in weight loss These drugs might help people not dying in 3 or 4 years, but I wouldn’t trust most of this information regarding a drug that the makers are claiming it works long term, they do it to sell the product Just lose weight naturally, if your a girl, eat 1,600 to 2,000 calories a day with exercise, and if your a male, eat 2,500 to 3,000 calories a day on top of exercise, it works

My husband has been on Wegovy for a year and lost 70lbs. He only gained back 5lbs while recovering from a knee replacement but has since lost those 5lbs. He goes to the gym 5 times a week and eats right about 80% of the time. Hang in there, it's a very effective tool.

it's not that simple. Wegovy promotes the release of insulin when blood sugar levels are high, which can help reduce blood sugar, and it increases the feeling of fullness and feeling of hunger.

So the study was funded by Norvo Nordisk and it was completed November of 2023 if it was so significant why did they wait 7 months to report the findings? Also the average weight loss is 10% after 4 years so basically you paid 52,000 dollars to lose 10% of your body weight.. REALLY!?!?! And 40% of the 10% is loss in mean body mass.. 🤦
@johnarildramberg3132
@johnarildramberg3132 3 месяца назад
10% weight loss kept off in 4 years is very good. 52 000 dollars must be a USA problem. In my country, the highest dose cost 300$, which makes it 14 400$ after 4 years. I would say thats a bargain considering the health benefits you get from not being obese.

They waited because the study is then peer-reviewed by others not involved with Novo. If they don't get it peer reviewed, no one would take the study as factual.

All they are doing is peer reviewing the biased study that’s 100% funded by Norvo Nordisk they are not doing independent research and comparing the outcomes. To this date there has not been a single independent study that has not been funded by Norvo Nordisk. Please prove my comment wrong by providing me an independent study that Norvo Nordisk has no involvement. Thank you

Unfortunately in many cases NO. If people have imbalance between hormones called greline and leptine, you can eat 200 calories a day and spend 8 hours in gym / 7 days a week, it will only devastate your body, nothing more. GLP-1s are fixing that imbalance. Apart from that that, regardless from that, it's very hard to cut the weight having underactive thyroid, insuline resistance or being on steroids treatment. So don't be so opinionate or get MUCH more knowledge, because you are telling BS now.

It helps you eat less… That’s the point. Did you know just 100 extra calories a day can lead to a ten pound weight gain in one year. It’s a delicate system in a world where calorie dense food is in every corner. This drug helps you just eat to live. Takes away the food noise.

That’s like telling an alcoholic to drink in moderation or telling a diabetic to control every bite of food. It seems people don’t want the obese to do it the “easy way”. That’s cheating! They must be made to atone. Oh, and they must have a complete change of lifestyle for the entire rest of their lives.
