I got the Firecuda 530 with 4 TB back then when that was the maximum! It’s pretty cool to keep all the downloaded games and never delete them.

8tb drive with 50 unfinished games isn't fun. in 2tb, you will push yourself to finish the game so you can install another.

How come every time you show the 8tb drive it's always a stock photo from somewhere else? If you bought that drive, why weren't you holding it, like the others? Made the video somewhat fake.

When you install a hard drive, does the storage the PS5 came with and the new hard drive combine? Or do you have to reinstall all your games onto the new drive?

I currently have the Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB. I mostly have games on my PS4, but I may consider getting a 4TB SSD next year.

You can use both 8TB SSD internal and 8TB external drive you could have more games with 16TB total

See I would agree that 2TB would seem like a fair middle ground option but given how big a lot of games are getting I would argue 4TB is probably a much better option given that it's now far more affordable than it was ten years ago where as 8TB we're seeing the prices that 4TB drives were sitting at before.

Wow this was very informative. I only have enough time to get through a game every 2-4 months, and so I’m convinced 2tb is sufficient esp since I’ll put ps4 games as well. By the time ps6 comes out, I don’t think i will have spent enough money on games to fill up a 4 or 8tb. I mainly want to get games on sale, so can wait for 1+ yr. Can I make a video recommendation? Some cost analysis factoring the cost of buying games, the time required to finish those games, and if it’s worth the expense if we plan to buy a ps6. That would be eye opening!

2tb is also the sweet spot for me , the price dropped for the ps5 slim to 449 at Walmart so I finally bought one , I won't be buying a ps5 pro anytime soon , you can't kill the ps4 so I have both now , Sony makes the best consoles, period

I got a 2TB two years ago and it’s already down to 500GB left. I get a new game every 2-3 months so if you play a lot of games 4tb is pretty reasonable if you don’t want to delete.

Yeah 2TB is fine for me. I'm not spending $400 or $900 USD on a SSD for a console . I'll rather put it in my PC. I also rather buy a Xbox One series X with that cost.

Honestly the best way to go about this is to get a 2 or 5tb hdd and a 4tb ssd. That gives you all the storage you need for ps4 and ps5 games

Im definitely going for the 8TB SSD, that way i can assure I'll have plenty of space for future games for years too come!

I have the addlink 4TB in mine, 71 games installed although probably half are ps4, and I’ve kept my ps5 main memory totally empty

DAMN, you bougie AFFFFF buying ALL of this plus having a freagin Porsche!!! 😳😳😳😳 You could’ve gotten the other two Dark Picture games (Man of Medan & The Devil in Me) plus The Quarry on PS5 in place of some of that shovelware lolol. 😂 As far as it goes for me because the 8 TB SSD is $600 more than the 4 TB SSD with the Addlink brand on Amazon, I’m considering getting the latter unless the former goes down SIGNIFICANTLY either on sale or permanently. As someone who will install as many of my PS4 games as possible but also WILL want to have LOADS of saved footage (I have nearly 3 TB worth across 2 different external hard drives from my PS4, which I installed a 2 TB HDD on when I got it on Christmas 2015), the 8 TB is definitely tempting, but I REALLY need to budget better. If only there was a 6 TB option 😭 Though the near 1 TB of storage you get with the PS5 Slim should help a ton! Especially for saved data & saved footage (which I assume you can can have the saved data of a game on one hard drive with the game itself installed on the other)!

Imagine you buying only physical games to keep your storage low and you have 8tb in ps5 and you can really have everything in playstation store in disc version

if you have a (very) good internet, 1 TB is more than enough. More than 2TB, you just a hoarder. You wont play them all i typically just play one game daily and juggling between 3-4 games. And it could last for months or i get bored, delete it and download another games

Honestly 2tb is all I ever need.

Xbox series x has multiple expending external USB 3.1 ports which they thought was better idea than open up unit and can still void warranty and protection plans unless done at Microsoft store same goes PlayStation be sure have it done by Sony store if have one near you. If not contact Sony and ask them if Best Buy or specialist does it and will it void it. I say this based non personal experience.

I’m sorry but this video seems like the worst way you could’ve planned this out. Why spend 10 minutes reading off a list of random game titles? How is that information beneficial to viewers? Just tell us how many games you downloaded on each drive and then calculate the average size of each game. That will give us a better idea of how many games each drive can store. And why did you spend so much time and money renting/buying random games? Why not just subscribe to PS Plus Extra/Premium for one month and download all those games? Way cheaper and more convenient. And why did you download the games for every SSD? Why not just download on the 8TB drive first and copy/transfer games to the other SSDs as necessary? Transferring data between two high speed SSDs will always be faster than downloading from servers. Or better yet just buy one 8TB drive and fill it up to the 1, 2, 4, and 8TB marks. No need to buy 4 separate SSDs
